For those of you going to Simucon, just wanted to let you know that there will be a WM get-together sometime during the day on Saturday. :) I haven't been given a specific time yet, but an announcement will be in your convention packet.

Returned from Simucon on 07/20/1998 01:33 AM CDT
Hello, everyone! :)
For those of you who couldn't go to Simucon, you missed a wonderful few days. :) If there's any way you can arrange going next year, please try.
I spoke with many, many Warrior Mages at the con, and I have to say that most of you are much less rabid in person. ;D There were several good suggestions, two of which I implemented as soon as I got back home:
1) Dragon's Breath does more damage now to creatures, up to and including bleeders (thank Binu for asking me about that :)
2) If you cast SW on someone (or yourself) who already has the spell on them, their current version of it ends, and your new spell will replace it. So if you first cast it at 10, then at 20, the 20 power (and higher bonus) will replace the 10.
I also handed out printed copies of two WM history books. The first one details the history of Stormwill Tower in Shard, and the second gives more info on the Council founded by the Four. These will eventually be released into the realms, but until then, try and find one of the WM's who went and see if they'll tell you the story.
At the moment, a lot of spells are undergoing "maintenance" to prepare them for the maritime province. I'll be doing this for several spells, and as I'm doing so, I'll be re-evaluating them for effectiveness. :)
Additionally, Shalnhh, Alnilam and Tokah (who was named the offical MM guru at the convention! :D) sat down and talked about spell slots and things of that nature. I can't give out more info until it's approved, but hopefully we'll have a surprise for you soon. :) (And if ANYone mentions that darned Chamber, I'll sic my big kitty on you ;D).
I am still not completely "back", since I have to concentrate on several things for the next province (I am history guru, in addition to being WM guru and assistant magic guru). But I will be able to devote more time to you guys. :)

Simucon Contest! on 08/28/1999 11:03 AM CDT
Attention all Warrior Mage Simucon Attendees!
Have you ever wanted something that was yours, and yours alone? Perhaps a bit of magic that defines you as a mage? Here's your chance!
At Simucon '99, I will be holding a contest to design your own unique* cantrip! Entry forms will be available at the registration desk, and are available to any Warrior Mage who is registered for Simucon. One entry per account.
Entries will be judged on creativity, style, and how the idea fits into your roleplaying of your character.
These entries will be judged by a group of GameMasters including Brandewynne and I.
The top 5 entries will win, and their Warrior Mage character will be taught their own personalized cantrip!
See you at Simucon!
* If your idea is an exceptionally good one, we may do something similar for other players. But it would be different enough that your cantrip is still unique. Additionally, if you cancel your account, we may decide to make your cantrip available to all Warrior Mages. We don't want a great idea dying out completely.

Simucon Warrior Mage meeting on 09/03/1999 11:03 PM CDT
Hello, everyone!
The Warrior Mage gathering will be scheduled sometime between 4-7pm on Thursday. The exact time will be available in your con schedule when you register. One of the things I'll be discussing at the meeting is the status of the TM system rewrite, and going over some of the changes I'm making. For those of you who can't go, I'll post all this on the boards after the con, too. ;)

<glances around nevously> I hope Hyram doesn't mind this post....
<clears throat>
Ok, this is for all you Simucon goers <g>. I'm going and I'm bringing notepaper to write down all those great ideas I know you'll have, but I have a couple of warnings so you're not insulted in case I forget.
1. I'm a Deadhead...nuff said.
2. I'm a mommy. Anyone with kids will understand that comment. If
don't, just ask and I will explain 'mommy brain'.
3. I love this guild and will fight to the bitter end for it!
Ok, having said that...see you in St. Louis!!
Narci, the GameMistress with newt powers!
