Last night, His Grace, Baron Gyfford, granted me permission to start fundraising efforts to help fund the construction of a new arena in Therengia. The new location, according to His Grace, will be on the site of the current amphitheatre, which will be torn down. To help raise funds to pay for this new arena, look for me to be hosting more than a few entry fee type tournaments in the current Amphitheater. Also, I'll be accepting donations of either coin or prize items from anyone who cares to contribute to this great cause.
I've got a few things on my plate for the next couple of weekends, but look for the fun to start the first weekend in November. Tournament rules, dates and times will be posted here, and crossposted in the Barbarian Savage Fight board.

Most of the fundraisers I have planned at this time involve the challenge mechanics, so that should make a lot of folks happy. (Interesting side note: pit fighting in an actual arena, at least the crossing one, does not cause soul hit.) Also, some of the events are all out anything goes, some will be limited to certain tactics/weapons/abilities. Most will be tiered for circle, however one should be very interesting as players will earn points in a rather intricate system. Stay tuned!

Teeklin, the Baron didn't give any idea on exactly how much will be needed to build the arena, but said it would be "quite expensive indeed." I'm sure we're looking at several thousands or even several tens of thousands of plats to pay the total bill for tearing down the old one and then building the new one in its place. That being said, this fundraising, as I have proposed it, is only to aid in the construction costs, not to foot the total bill. I'm thinking if we can get a few thousand plat together (yeah maybe I'm aiming high), it'll be a nice show of support.

Now, with the advent of several changes to the arena system, and the hints that there might be some new arenas opened up around the realms, I and a few others came up with this idea to help things along for getting a new arena in Therengia.
