Any tips on how to effectively learning bow skill? I am struggling to learn bow since 3.0 rolled out. I've experimented with longer and shorter aim times and it doesn't seem to make a difference. It is taking me an average of 700 seconds (11 minutes) to get to 20/34 in Small Edge at comparable skill, versus about 1900 seconds (31 minutes) to get to only 15/34.
I currently use a Nisha short bow, broad-barbed arrows, and hunt juvies. Also, I moved to adults and saw no appreciable difference in learning rate in bow.
I thought damage done was divorced from exp granted for an attack action?

As a weapon secondary I feel like I'm learning bow at a reasonable rate with about 50 more ranks in adults. 800 seems a smidge high for juveniles. Ill do some testing to find out how long it's taking to lock. I also train with a nisha and broad-barbed arrows and haven't perceived any slowness, tests inc tomorrow.
Here are a few tests with Bow learning at secondary rate, each test was performed with 0/34 in Bows in adult armadillos and reset by filling a favor orb.
Relevant stats:

Test 1: Dual loaded full aim on each shot, after each death 3 arranges were done and 1 skin totaling 8 seconds of additional roundtime were performed. Over 10 deaths 1 minute and 20 seconds of additional RT was performed from skinning.
Items Used - Nisha short bow, broad-barbed arrows from Mer'kresh.
Start Time/End Time/Total time to lock:
4:35:28/4:43:42/8 minutes 14 seconds with skinning/6 minutes 54 seconds without skinning.
Test 2: Single loaded full aim on each shot, after each death 3 arranges were done and 1 skin totaling 8 seconds of additional roundtime were performed. Over 10 deaths 1 minute and 20 seconds of additional RT was performed from skinning.

Total time to 33/34 - 1448 seconds (24 minutes)
Better, but still not ideal considering melee at the same ranks takes roughly 7 minutes max.
