I'm a gnome with the specialized gnome leather armor. I don't have any brawling gear yet but am looking. thanks to everyone who's answered. i appreciate the help!

With leather get brawl gear: hands, elbow and foot. If you were wearing plate or chain I'd suggest not going with brawl gear since the brawl gear overrides the bonus bestowed by the armor.
Being an empath I'll assume your stats lean towards stamina.
A quick break down of stats that go with each brawl move's damage. This was posted by the GMs and is up on elanthipedia.
