You don't want a hauberk. You want a shirt and greaves. I make a 187 (could be 192, I forget offhand) shirt with high absorbs, mod hinderance, and 18 stone greaves. The lowest hauberk is 240 if there are any around.
I'll give you the old school Rakash price. Find me.

This is correct. Simon has special permission though, because his undying belief that undead are alive makes me smile, and nobody can argue with a GM like he can. The man has skills, I have to respect that.

The chain hauberk is light chain.
The hauberk looks like it offers protection for the following areas:
right arm
left arm
right leg
left leg
chest
abdomen
back
You feel certain that a chain hauberk appears to impose moderate maneuvering hindrance and offers:
good protection and high damage absorption for puncture attacks.
good protection and high damage absorption for slice attacks.
moderate protection and high damage absorption for impact attacks.
moderate protection and good damage absorption for fire attacks.
moderate protection and good damage absorption for cold attacks.
poor protection and good damage absorption for electrical attacks.
If you were only maneuvering in a chain hauberk you would be insignificantly hindered.
But considering all the armor and shields you are wearing or carrying, you are currently lightly hindered.
You are certain that the chain hauberk is fairly sturdy, and is practically in mint condition.
The chain hauberk is made with metal.
The chain hauberk is fairly flexible.
You are certain that the chain hauberk weighs exactly 240 stones.
You are certain that the chain hauberk is worth exactly 1800 lirums.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.
Made by Taghz, bought it when it was 161 stones (le sigh).

Pretty much all LC hauberks from 399 stones and lower besides the 240's have moderate strength durability with the posted protection.
The only hauberks that have better protection are the HC Augmented hauberks of considerably weight. Around 550 stones or so for the extra protection on the aug's.

Ralero, you might seriously consider LC/HP instead of LC/LP. Can't post any appraisals at work, but you get considerably better protection, for not much extra hinderance or weight - at least at the forged level.

My cleric uses a LC shirt and HP/LP accessories. I just wanted to point out that forged greaves and gauntlets, at least on the app are nearly identical at similar weights.
Furthermore you have to about double the weight and get a bump in hindrance to get visibly better protection. I'm not trying to make a value judgement really, just trying to put the info out there. If you can't get your hands on top end forged gear lots of things change.

Hanryu, that's the exact reason I'd recommend HP over LP. Not specifically because THAT armor is better, but let's say at some point someone decides to go full HP or LP. They would have been gaining the plate ranks one way or the other, so might as wellprepare for the top-end gear in the end-game. That's how I see it anyway.

If you are going to mix plate and chain anyway, shouldn't you just go ahead and throw HC into the mix?
I am currently use a chain tunic (slightly better on slice protection compared to a chain shirt), HP helm, LP gauntlets, and HC greaves. I'm thinking about going to an HC helm and using HP greaves to lower my overall hinderance a bit, but the goal is still to have 4 armors.
PS. I am super jealous of those forged armors. I use all store bought and they look pitiful next to the stuff you guys are using.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and info. I'm a young Barb and I'm trying to keep the weight and hinderance down. I currently use a capped LC shirt and gloves, forged LP greaves and a store-bought balaclava. I'm currently at lightly hindered. I'm going to give LP a few more ranks to see if the hinderance goes down. Otherwise, I'll probably go back to a capped LC hauberk and gloves with a balaclava.

You know I thought about that. The main reason I'm mixing LC with the HP/LP has almost everything to do with look and style and little to do with maxing out the system. With Hanryu I swap armors and wear crazy setups to train as many armors as I can at once, because while skinning pays the bills, armor is his passion, and he will forge some decent armor one day, ranger or not. What I do is keep my chest/arm armor (leather coat) and hand armor (HP gauntlets) the same and swap out bone/HC/LP/LC on the head/legs as they lock.
Ninedra, on the other hand could care less about forging or any armor really, but me the player really likes the idea of crusader cleric all spelled up with bright shiny armor smiting the undead and the heathen alike. So I picked gauntlets and helms and such for her and died them polished gold. I picked the chain shirt because I could die that to just a "color" shirt and wear it around as part of her outfit, changing it as necessary.
Definitely two different approaches to how to choose your armor, and each is just as good as the other as long as you have fun with it :)

It just does (except hands and head), I didn't do anything special with it. It also hides all kinds of other stuff (cambrinth armbands, cambrinth pendant and ston, card case, hop pouch with misc junk, etc...). Its a handy piece of fluff as it lets me carry around a bunch of junk that I wouldn't otherwise because it would look odd.
