Just wondering what the deal with armor learning is, or maybe blood wolves don't teach as high as I thought (I was thinking they teach to about 100 ranks)

Cloth Armor: 65 21% thoughtful Bone Armor: 52 16% thoughtful

This was with 2 blood wolves for about 30 minutes. My armor is full cloth with Bone hands and Head/neck/eyes.

Just feels like I can never lock these armors. On a side note I never really was locking these armors in 3rd tier snobs either...it
alwasy just creeps along slowly. Whats the deal yo?

thanks,

Codiax.

Sounds like you're backtraining them? Try shutting your evasion off to 0% stance or thereabouts. I never learn any armor if I'm only evading the attacks. Shield blocking seems to be the best armor teacher for me. Blood wolves should be fine at those ranks if you have enough wailing on you.

Yeah that was it, I basically had to lower to 0% to learn, and then it ended up locking the cloth armor atleast.

I think it shouldn't be that way though...makes no sense.

I recently trained armor to 97 ranks in bloodwolves, you just need to parry or shield block.

I agree, it does seem backwards. Moving around in the armor sounds more like vigorous armor training than standing still behind a shield. Maybe it's set up that way since at level 0 the hinderance from armor kills your evasion so you'd be unable to learn it unless you're blocking or parrying.

Heh, or just let armor learn from all three defense positions. But that's probably too much additional armor exp.

I'm sure there are ways to tweak the numbers and make it work...

Maybe not easy ways, and I'd much rather see other changes before armor learning, but it may happen in the future.

That is what I think also. But anyways I was appraising the wolves as I lowered my stance, and they appraise increasingly harder offensively as you lower the stance....so something is linked between effective ranks and teaching ranks for armor learning. I think it should be based off your current effective ranks in armor vs. the oppenents effective attack ranks instead. Would make a ton more sense.
