It is getting bloody ridiculous. They happen way too often, and a "very heavy hit" should not be near enough to kill someone out of the blue with no other wounds.

Agreed, unfortunately it seems that once you're at caracals or above, the open rolls occur for every critter, and almost always result in death if the open roll lands on a critcial area like chest or abdomen. I would gladly trade all of my "open roll" hits where I slice the critter in half and kill it in one shot, if the same could be done on the other side of that fence. I don't mind the hit costing me an arm or a leg, but to go from completely untouched and unwounded to dead in one shot is a bit much.

Alright, so now in high swarm areas where its loot, or your life for a few moments, we now get to lose loot? 15 or 20 items in a place like swains, sprites, gryphons, raiders, is a few creatures.
If this is coming, i want staff to use up one of the precious toggles in an autoloot +gems and +coins and +boxs.

You throw your juggling pins precisely at Captain Tevel's chest, hitting it with a decent strike that explodes the chest in a shower of blood and splintered ribs.
[Roundtime 1 sec.]
The Captain Tevel is already very dead.

I will agree that it's annoying to find a room with a full page worth of loot on the ground, but couldn't this be resolved in a better way? I know that vines and creepers will be a lot less profitable unless one of my usual hunting party (read: me) is the designated pack mule.
I would love to see it end up like the junk pile, as someone mentioned before, something like:
[The Crossing, Western Gate]
Camels, oxen, and mules compete with Elves, Gor'Togs, and Humans to pass through the narrow gate which breaches the stone wall between town and the western reaches. The lowing of animals, and the bellowing of irate travelers become almost indistinguishable the more you listen. After a few minutes, so do the unmistakable odors of unwashed sojourners and domestic beasts of burden. It begins to dawn on you why folks are anxious to pass through customs, whatever the cost, as quickly as possible. You also see the Western Gate, the Guard House, and some stone stairs leading to the top of the town wall. You also see a dead town guard, some coins, some gems, a mildewy oaken skippet, a sturdy iron crate, a kertig fist, and some junk.
Also here: Slowdog.
Obvious paths: east.
H>l coin
In the pile of coins you see some gold coins, some platinum coins, some gold coins, some silver coins, some silver coins... etc.
H>l gem
In the pile of gems you see a massive silver nugget, a huge yellow sapphire, a large green zircon... etc.
Things like kertig and glaes would not go in the piles, they are a bit special after all. Maybe others too, but I just woke up so this is the best I can do for now, thoughts on this? Seems better than having the janitor eat all your loot, in my opinion.

Of course you can, but do me a favor, hunt something that drops a lot of coins and pick up all those as they drop. This is especially fun during lower circles, when players simly cannot have very high stats (barring the people who train skills to an insane level without circling, of course).
From what I understand of this, coins are not immune to the janitor's sweep... and they make the majority of the scroll I see anyway.

Personally I don't pick up coins under a silver or gems worth less than five silver, because those aren't worth their own weight anyway.

Young players aren't going to hunt anything that drops a lot of coins until they get to sand sprites, if they choose to hunt there. It's still incredibly easy to loot all coins or gems and run to sell them or deposit if you get burdened, or your inventory count gets too high. Even in sand sprites, if you leave all the coins on the ground for the janitor to get, you can still make quite a few plats just from selling gems. The janitor keeps the loot on the ground under 10 items per room anyway, at least it seems that way. The clutter is greatly reduced, which is a good thing.
