From what I've seen in my tests thus far, no. With a weapon in the "offhand", you will still shield block, which Ssra said won't happen when offhand parry is turned on.. or words to that effect I believe.

You can still parry with the right hand weapon for now as well as shield block as per before the changes.

What about parrying daggers maybe?

- Suited for parrying i.e. good balance on them, well, reasonable and higher

- LE type weapons that did little to no damage

- Held in the left hand, but could not wear a shield on the arm if using a parrying dagger.

- Instead of using shield to defend with a character using a parrying dagger would have a defense check of: a) Evasion b) parry with the left hand, using the parrying daggers balance c) Parry with the right hand. So yes, 2 parry checks.

- Teach off hand while parrying!

- The parrying dagger could not be used to attack with.

- Obviously totally worthless for blocking spells and missile weapons

dirge short sword is a parrying...well sword, but the size of a dagger.
well constructed, decent balance
yu know the deal.

and with commoners its just as well with light edged, as they most likely would'nt carry a second ME or a HE in the other hand.

ME main and LE offhand works well with doing damage and keeping balance.

AFAIK fairly sturdy is the best construction you get for non rare metal LE. Dirge short sword is fairly sturdy and reasonably balanced according to Hanryu's CEC.

Will shield be moved over to the parry system so that there's only two systems needed for defenses, even if one is checked twice?

Will the offensive stance points be moved into the other stance set?

If not, Could it be?

The possible good I can see is shield being used in the right hand and offhand parry could be functioning.

It'd also open up the much much messy problem of worn weapons, such as leg wraps and knee spikes.

Maybe
If shield=left then (%50 shield, %50 parry)
If shield=Right then (%35 shield, %35 offhand, %30 parry)
If Weapon=left then (%35 parry, %35 offhand, %30 offhand)
If weapon=right then (%50 weapon, %50 parry)
