Alrighty, well I've decided to start training Halberds -- I wanted to start a heavy hitting weapon, but I'm not inclined to conform to the vast majority of bastard sword junkies(HE/2HE weapon classes).

I appraised a few of the halbies at the fest, and they appear to do some decent damage.

What I'm wondering now, though, is what's a good halberd to use for starters? What's the maximum damage a forged halberd can go up to? I know scimitars can get up to great slice when forged, so I could only imagine what a halberd could do.

Could I expect to see some 3/4/5 RT's with 29 strength and agility?

Do halberds have a pretty nice combo with thrust/lunge excluded? I dont really like those maneuvers.

Any advice would be appreciated, I'm fully new and fresh to this.

Thanks!

I use a short hafted halberd(or a pretty fest versionof it) its 40 stones mod/mod with 32 strength 30 agil I get a 34 rt with it. You wont be able to hit from pole with this weapon but it does have the best construction i've seen on any halberd. There are others out there that hit a hell of alot harder but there weight is so much higher I'm waiting till I can swing them faster. I believe Rayje can make a 43 stone heavy/heavy halberd that can hit from pole.

Woah, now that's what I'm talkin' about. At least for that weight.
