A while back they had an auction for a basty on the Jaar Jelrya (sp?) that on festival ship. Well, this was back when cambrinth weapons first became widely available. The cambrinth sword was later gifted to me, and here is the app on it.

A blackened steel bastard sword with a hilt wrapped in fine crimson leather is a heavy edged melee-ranged weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
fair puncture damage
heavy slice damage
fair impact damage

You are certain that the sword is fairly balanced and is reasonably suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

A blackened steel bastard sword with a hilt wrapped in fine crimson leather is a two-handed edged melee-ranged weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
fair puncture damage
great slice damage
moderate impact damage

You are certain that the sword is reasonably balanced and is reasonably suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the bastard sword is well constructed, and is in pristine condition.

The bastard sword is made with metal.
The bastard sword feels light (36 stones I think).
You are certain that the bastard sword is worth exactly 62500 kronars.

Out of curiosity, how good of a sword is it? Is anything similar to this possible without using rare metals? I'm really not sure if heavy slice and fair impact is better than great slice and low impact - which is what some forged basties seem to come out to. I'm guessing the puncture and construction would seem hard to duplicate by any means. Thank you for letting me know what you think of this piece.

Its not capped for 36 stones, but it does have more impact, better balance/suitedness and looks pretty damn nice for free.

Oh it definately is a nice blade. No complaints here. I was just curious how close to perfectly pounded and ground steel it was. :)

It doesnt have as much slice as a forged bastard sword, but, in my opinion, the impact makes up for it.

Besides the nice extra puncture it looks capped for a 36 just because someone prefers impact to slice dosen't mean it isnt capped.I've been a forger for 4-5 years and only reason I grind for edge anymore is to tests mixes.I keep as much impact on my weapons as possible because impact is more effctive in dr stat to statand is included in slice and puncture attacks

Ahh very cool. Now, would rare metals get you above this cap? If so, what kind of stats might one see?

I prefer more impact for my 2HE weapons I forge or I use a nice storebought/festival weapon and usually see better results than I do with a bastard sword with more slice.

An obsidian black broadsword is a heavy edged melee-ranged weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
low puncture damage
great slice damage
fair impact damage

You are certain that the broadsword is reasonably balanced and is reasonably suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the obsidian black broadsword is very strong, and is in pristine condition.

The obsidian black broadsword is made with metal.
You think it is likely that the obsidian black broadsword weighs around 20 stones.
You are certain that the obsidian black broadsword is worth exactly 575 kronars.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

Its actually 28 stones. Poshly forged it for me about 3 years ago. I don't know how well a 36+ with kertig would come out.

Bastard swords should come out like low/severe/low in HE and low/severe/fair in 2HE or something about that.

Was that using rare metals on the basty(severe/low severe/fair)? Other than that, thank ya's for all the responses!

Yes, that was in response to the rare metals. Need to put in something like...50-60 stones for regular metals to hit severe on the HE side I believe.

Speaking of basties, what kind of stats could I expect to see on a standard metal blade around about 50 stones, what about 60 stones?
