You can find a heavy slice 21 stone broadsword that's fairly balanced, and fairly suited if your forger is good enough or has the proper mix.

Battle axes start at 28 stones and can be made p/h/f d/r (if my memory is correct). I'd recommend a broadsword over the axe, simply because I love balance and that's a big 7 stone difference when starting off.
