The field plate is heavy plate.
The plate looks like it offers protection for the following areas:
right leg
left leg
chest
abdomen
back
You feel certain that some light tyrium field plate appears to impose significant maneuvering hindrance (10/15) and overwhelming stealth hindrance (14/15), offering:
great protection (9/15) and incredible damage absorption (15/17) for puncture attacks.
very great protection (10/15) and incredible damage absorption (15/17) for slice attacks.
high protection (7/15) and incredible damage absorption (15/17) for impact attacks.
very good protection (6/15) and great damage absorption (11/17) for fire attacks.
very good protection (6/15) and great damage absorption (11/17) for cold attacks.
good protection (5/15) and great damage absorption (11/17) for electrical attacks.
If you were only wearing some light tyrium field plate you could expect your maneuvering to be fairly hindered and your stealth to be extremely hindered.

The metal appears to be composed of: 67.24% tyrium, 17.24% lead, and 15.51% copper.
Keep in mind this is the LIGHT plate.
Heavy Tyrium plate would have likely 1 to 2 pts better across the board. Course getting enough Tyrium to make that... dont even ASK how much it cost to get enough to just make this set.

If I were to hazard a guess.
Heavy Tyrium would look something like this 10/16, 10/16, 9/16
Better in physical and a fair bit better on elemental than Damite. We are still uncertain how big a role Elemental protection will play in 3.0 it may end up being big or not. At least it will have meaning and that will count for a fair bit. Also keep in mind the weight Tyrium looks to be about 25% lighter. That counts towards hinderance. I suspect if a number cruncher was to plug in numbers it will mean a lot less hits and lighter hits in general.

Well if you look at how Stee/Luminum/Damite scale like in protection one over other the way Tyrium scales over Damite makes sense and the numbers I suppose should have been predictable when you compared how the other three scaled with each other.
I guess folks expect Tyrium to be this UBAR EVERYTHING O DOOM!!! Because of the stupendous price it commands. That is just the way things are in DR folks are looking for BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST. If you want that that extra 1 point going to cost you up to individuals to figgure out is it worth it for them.

The plate came out as expected. Blend was already posted. Going up to 6.95 density may have yielded slightly better cold/fire, but the earlier guess on the stats for heavy (rather than light) pattern are about where my guess would have been.
I think an important thing to keep in mind with the tyrium vs damite question is that the tyrium will be much lighter (I'm itching to see how pure tyrium comes out w/o weighting), not to mention not needing to reinforce it. On larger pieces even currently you end up about 50-100 stones lighter (possible hindrance implications there), and depending on the final break point, you could even drop a point of hindrance.

I believe armor appraisal ranges are a bit larger than weapon appraisal ranges. So even if most of the ranges are similiar/same there could quite a bit of difference. Kraggur is that what you experienced, maybe with comparing would show more?

I've also noticed the system is a bit lumpier than otherwise might be expected (e.g. chain jumps from 11 absorb to 13 absorb [tyrium/heavy damite], rather than curving through 12).
It was 12/17 before temper, and 16/17 (or maybe +1/+1 on both) after.
Weight was 377 and final weight was ~330.

Strictly Plat vs Plat compare I'd agree. But if you want the best there is...
Look I bought the tyrium and it cost a fortune. I could have had 3 full damite plate sets made with that much plats. But I wanted something that was A) Top of the line, B) Unique. I have to admit the way DR prices are these days for things anyhting worth anything is going to be worth stupendous amounts of plats. Way I see it a top of the line suite of armor I get to ure for likely rest of my DR life is a good investment.
The final issue I had with damite was I cant use heavy damite plate. It has the weight of a small mountain and the hinderance is pure murder. Guy I play is a War mage. Light damite is actually wrose than the Kanton's Killing Fields (pre nerf) drop plate I was using so there was no point to having light damite made. I also wanted to see what Tyrium plate would look like. My ONLY regret is I did not have enough Tyrium to have Heavy Tyrium Plate made. At some point down the road if I manage to pick up 30 more voulumes of tyrium I may melt this one down and have Kraggur do a Heavy Tyrium Plate. The extra FEW points of protection vs the likely 150 to 200 stones of weight and increased hinderance may not make it worth while in Heavy Plate even for Tyrium for a non Paladin/Barb.

Got a tyrium light chain shirt made that was ++ in protection and absorption across the board and -- in maneuvering and stealth hinderance and weight. Way worth the money IMO for my goal of being a ninja.
