Pretty new to using a quarterstaff, was curious as to what combinations you guys use when smacking critters(or players) with a staff.

"ATTACK x3" will do Thrust, Sweep, Chop. If you don't have a puncture part of the weapon, I suppose you could cut out the Thrust. After chop, it's Feint, (pummel/slam), Draw, Slice. Again, if your particular quarterstaff doesn't have an edge, I'd cut out the Draw.
So with a standard QS (no/no/heavy), it'd be Feint, Slice, Sweep, Chop to gain balance with primarily damaging maneuvers. If you want more balance gain, put the thrust and draw in there where needed. Slam and pummel are balance-neutral after most attacks, and slightly balance-positive after a feint, which is why I tend to put it there.
Get your opponent stunned/prone, and just wail on 'em with sweep/chop until you can't stand being unbalanced or they're dead. It's a wunnerful weapon. Welcome to the ranks.

If you are using a QS with puncture, then parry/thrust/sweep/chop/ and either lunge and start the combo over or add draw/slice
For a blunt QS, it is simply parry/sweep/chop/draw/slice and start back at sweep. Same is for SS as well.
For human facial expressions, it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile.
People who smile are lazy.
