Periperu Sword? on 07/10/2005 02:52 AM CDT

I've started a Kaldar Barbarian, and I've decided I want to have a style of using big slow weapons so I was going to go with a greatsword, but the one in Theren is beyond was I can afford at the moment. So I was looking through the weapons compendium and found the Periperu Sword THE at 120 stones and Severe Slice, the nice thing being it only costs a little over a gold from the Stone Clan.

Has anyone used this sword? I'm not expecting it to be great, but as a starting sword does anyone know of something better that has the style I'm looking for. I also ran the Theren greatsword through the rt calculator and I wouldn't get my first drop in rt until 38 strength and it suggested not training agility at all one that, so I assume this is more extreme for the Peri's 120 stones. Will I go any higher than the top entry on that rt calculator 10/12?

Also, I hope so but does a weapon this big fit in a backpack?

1st, don't think that they will fit in a backpack. Second, if you want a big cumbersome weapon, don't get the periperiu... it's terrible and far too heavy. You said you couldn't afford the greatsword in theren, but if you can get some assistance, have someone kill a few fire maidens for you (by dirge). They drop a variety of greatswords, and are free. Think they have blackened, scorched, and gleaming greatswords... perhaps a few others. Might take a little bit, as some carry battle axes as well.

I discovered that, 21 second pummel. It did fit in a backpack though. I will try to get a fire sprite greatsword though. I wish it was nicer though, its a different kind of name for a weapon.

If you want a big weapon that is decent, get a flamberge from Riverhaven.

The old bugged periperu swords were devastating, (devastating/godlike if I remeber right) but sometime in the first year or two of the game they got noticed and every single one was changed. The flamberge is better, I also like the claymore from theren, but for big and slow try the Ironhill Greatsword for a pole ranged monstrosity until you can afford a forged greatsword with some weight and bite to it.

If you catch me, I'm usually willing to pound out a 60/61 stone greatsword. I'm not that great so it appraises like low/severe/mod poor/reasonably well constructed or a variety of claymores that are like low/severe/fair dismal/reason or dismal/well and well constructed. For free because I'm not that great.

What was the stats on that greatsword that was forged using the rare metals (I believe madgar made it).

That blade should never be mentioned again, as all it does is cause a collective soiling of pants. Just thinking about it is dangerous.
