Not sure what this means..... on 03/03/2006 01:01 AM CST
Hello. Was just wondering if I could get some input on a message I get at times while parrying with my claymore. I have seen it a few times and have also see it by a critter when it would parry the straight-edge spata I used to use. Anyhow, I will paste it below.
Moving with grace, a snowbeast claws at you. As it buckles slightly under the attack, you knock aside the claw with a claymore. The claw lands a good strike to your right hand.
[You're hurt, off balance with opponent in very strong position.]
The part I'm wondering about is the: As it buckles slightly under the attack
I check the weapon for damage but there is none. Just kind of curious what that messaging means. Does it have to do with the impact of the attack? Cause I generally don't cause that message anymore with my claymore where as I did when attacking with that spata.
Just curious. Thanks.

I think this is messaging where "you" is interchangable with the critter name (if you were to generate that message when attack a critter). Like this:
>As it buckles slightly under the attack, a snowbeast knocks aside the claymore with a claw.

I believe it was me buckling. Or the claymore I should say. Because I have also seen the message when I have attacked with a much heavier weapon than the claymore. Wondering if it has something to do with force or something. I have seen it happen to other things that parry when I was using that straight-edged spata which weighed around 56 stones.
But yea to answer your question. The snowbeast clawed at me and I buckled under the attack. I just wanted to make sure it was a message indicating damage being done to my weapon. Cause that claymore was expensive for a character of my years.
Thanks for all the input all.
P.S. No, I don't sleep. Having problems with that.
