Does any know definitively whether the flesh rot comes from the worms themselves, or from walking around in murky water with open cuts? I.e., if I go in for a while with a bleeder (non-bloodworm), and manage to stay clear of the worms, will I still get the rot.

As I've been fortunate to find an emp quickly enough both times I've gotten the rot, how does it affect you? Vit drain? Affect abilities? It thankfully didn't take me down like good ol' fashion disease does.

Not that it makes a difference, I's just curious.
