This might be a bug to do with a certain place rather than the creature...
While hunting, I noticed one guy, a moon mage, had 10-12 geni on him. It was like that 10 hours later as well. I finally went to check in on the room, searched around, couldn't find any other people there. He had no shadow servant or visible shadowling.
Immediately on entering the room, 4 geni advanced on me. The rest coninued to mope around, not leaving the room. The guy kept casing either sleep or mental blast on them, doing nothing else - I don't know if this might have contributed to them being trapped? Did his spells eventually blast their minds so badly they couldn't find the exits? I whittled them down to 6, then I was finished hunting, so I left for a bit to skin some leucros, and when I came back, he had more again.
https://elanthipedia.play.net/RanikMap11a The room# in Genie is 107, and on this map, it's the second room above the "wild" in the word "Wilderness" at the very bottom, third under the word "Black".

It's not the room, but the spell. Today the guy is definitely in a different room, but doing the same thing, repeatedly casting Mental Blast at the geni in the room. His script seems to target one after the other.
*** gestures at a forest geni.
A forest geni collapses as if dead.
I'm guessing the nerve damage is stopping them from leaving the room?

I think I remember hearing about this before. Something about it flagging them as non hostile for a moment but geni spawn so fast it's easy to end up with several. I feel like it's been a good while since it was brought up.

The big problem is the guy is not killing them, simply casting that same spell over and over. I'm killing them fast enough that I don't get more than 2 on me at a time, which means my defenses are taking a while longer to train, but the spawn is replenishing just enough that I don't have to wait long when I run out of things to stab. But when I HUNT, I can see that other people in the area have nothing to fight with more than half the time. Another guy got fed up and went over to the moon mage's room and killed things. Chatted with him on the personal channel a bit - he was under the impression it was a bugged room too, and said it was disruptive.
If the guy is there long enough he can have over 10 geni in his room as seen here. http://imgur.com/a/wyP52
For the short time I spied him tonight, he seemed to be only targeting the first 5, out of eight. I'd take a look every time he cast, and the last 3 were never put to sleep. I don't think I've ever seen a geni leave the room once it arrives - that could be another factor. They might not have been coded to find something else to bother once they spawn, if someone's in the room they're in. Something like that.

Yep. I asked if I could hunt with him, the second time I noticed it. No response, so I killed a few (I was near the end of mindlocking things) and left him with lots still around. Then I gave him an OOC note about the room maybe being bugged yesterday, and just now let him know to be careful with his spell.
>You whisper to **, "OOC: Sorry to bother you again. Just wanted to let you know, I don't think its the room that's bugged after all. Just something weird about geni when they get mental blasted? Makes them not leave your room, then more and more pile in for some reason... So just be careful with it, don't want people getting mad at you for hogging them. Take care!"
Haven't had him try to contact me at any point.
Talking to more people hunting here, it seems its normal for them to go to his room and mop up once in a while, so I guess everything works out?

Really not his fault.
[Wilderness]
Fallen leaves rustle with the movements of a thousand crawling insects. With no birdsong to add a melody to the eerie rhythm, the crackling and whispering becomes the murmur of an unseen voice in the night, coming from nowhere.
You also see a forest geni, a forest geni, a forest geni, a forest geni and a forest geni.
Obvious paths: northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest.
This is me, just standing here trying to mindlock evasion with nothing else to do. Why do I have 5? Why won't the 5th one leave? It is a mystery.
