Am I correct in thinking that creatures' order in a room should not change when a new creature enters, i.e., the creature that just entered shouldn't be the first one?
If that's the case, has anyone else noticed young ogres and snowbeasts not doing so, or am I imagining things?
I'm just finding myself suddenly switching target when I'm throwing my weapon at these creatures. Didn't encounter it with previous creatures.

I was under the impression that DR always just puts every new iteration of anything (critters, people, dropped object) on top of a stack (hence why your inventory use to reverse on login), an that was a pretty fundamental system limitation. Was there a workaround for critters that I missed? I did a cursory search and found nothing but it's not a search to construct an easy query for.
Additionally, does 'throw' without an argument not default to facing-critter?

Not sure how far back of a change you're thinking, but I believe part of 3.0 was that the "first" critter in the room stayed the "first" critter in the room. So if you're attacking the "third" goblin and X goblins show up, you can still attack the "third" one and hit the right target.
Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.

You (nimbly balanced) are facing an adult desert armadillo (3) at melee range.
An adult desert armadillo (1: off balance) is behind you at melee range.
An adult desert armadillo (2: badly balanced) is behind you at melee range.
An adult desert armadillo (3: solidly balanced) is facing you at melee range.
New critter enters at 4th slot

So I bugged both Young Ogres and Snowbeasts, but it wasn't after I submitted the Ogre bug that I noticed that they're not always behaving incorrectly. It depends on how it enters the room. I'm not 100% certain based on the Ogre messaging, but based on the Snowbeast messaging, I think they become the first creature in the room only if they spawn in another room, and then enter another room.
Messaging that gave correct ordering (i.e., they become the last creature in the room):
>A young ogre comes lumbering into sight and peers about with squinty little eyes.
>A blood-curdling howl fills the air as a snowbeast lopes in!
Messaging that gave incorrect ordering (i.e., they become the first creature in the room):
>A young ogre lumbers into sight, glancing around.
>A telltale howl fills the air as a snowbeast bounds in from the east!
