You need something that still teaches you shield and doesnt kill you quickly when training parry?

Black leucros + vipers past the deadfall or first tier nipoh oshu, in Aesry, will still teach your shield for a couple of dozen ranks and will be great for the rest.

Small peccaries and swamp trolls in Lang. (beware the trolls with shield and fendryads, these might hurt you).

Third tier snow goblins, also in Aesry, probably still teach you shield for a bit.

I have to say, I'm almost in the same position and planning to head from vipers to black leucros to finish up shield there, but they are really, really sparse. It's a bit frustrating. They definitely teach well though, when you can find a few.
