I'm looking for something to hunt in my skill range that is perceptive enough to teach backstab (and hiding & stalking are a plus) and also drops boxes fairly well. I'm big on keeping my defenses well-rounded so it's gotta be something I can dance with a little.

Germish'din were a decent fit (albeit not very perceptive) but the box drop rate was horrible. I thought about dinegos but IIRC they only come out at night.

Any ideas? I'd prefer to stay on the mainland because I've finally perfected my stealing script but if I have to write another for the islands it's no big deal.

Orc Raiders on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Manor house are great for boxes in that range. Backstab moves kind of slow (its better to train it with ambush really) and young gryphons will still move defenses in that range.
