2-Shotting goblins with 10 ranks was pretty satisfying but the load time is mind numbing.
Apes are awesome, at least with make-them-drop-weapon abilities/spells. Maybe they're really tough with the parry, but the gen complaints are overplayed and you don't need to actually hit them to get the weapon exp anyway.
If you have the defenses to survive splitting shield and parry, they're the best post-southern celp critter around in my opinion.
