Been hunting warklin/maulers recently, and they were doing pretty well until today, I've apparently capped the MO learning from 3 of them, and keeping 4 at a time, given the spawn rate, while trying not to hog the spawn, is pretty tough. Even then, MO just creeps along slowly.
I'm hoping to transition to southern celps before long, but for the immediate future I'm looking to stay on the mainland, Therengia/Zoluren area preferably. At this point MO is my only concern, the warklin/maulers are still handling everything else pretty well.
Pertinent character info can be found here: http://drp.whistlethis.com/v.php?def=521
Thanks.

I don't really have a critter suggestion, but I can tell you it's probably going to continue being a struggle. At just under 460 MO, I need 4 of the southern barricade celps to move it off of clear. Not sure if there are critters that are better MO teachers, but from what I've seen lately, MO is the first thing I stop learning in any hunting area.

>>Are Sky Giants too hard for you with those ranks?
Problem with Sky Giants is they just don't spawn fast enough. I recently read a post from Aaiyaah asking a GM to increase the spawn rate to which the GM responded they did increase it. I went over there to see if it had but noticed no difference.
Maybe the GM's could bump the generation rate up even more? I would hunt there much more often if they spawned much quicker, as I love the Therenborough area!
Thanks!

Gave the giants a shot earlier, I think they're still a bit over Og's head. Using his best defensive dance and sitting in a purely defensive stance, he had no problem handling 3 at melee, but they didn't move his MO over 1/34. With a 4th at melee, MO started moving pretty well, but they also started landing some shots, and those greatswords start adding up a bit too quickly.
Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll look forward to checking them out a little further down the line. I would also say the gen could stand to go up a bit. Even using my warhorn it took a while to get those 4, without even trying to kill them, and not being the only hunter in there at the time.

Warklins are a bit of a pain. I was able to ride them almost to 500 MO, but their sudden popularity has made that pretty much impossible now without being completely inconsiderate considering the poor gen.
I second the suggestion of Ratha celps. You should be able to take them, or are close. At least it's not as far a trip as Kresh.

Ratha celepeze will definitely get the job done. Considering you want to keep you character on the mainland, this is probably not the answer you wanted to hear.
Some hunting you may want to try would be the storm bulls in Shard, shalaswar or black apes near Hib, or even poke around the undead near Shard. Considering sky giants became problematic, you may just have to let MO fall to the wayside until you have the defenses to cope with tougher creatures.
Until more (usuable) high level hunting is added throughout the provinces, you are on the cusp of island hunting full time.

That's very high multi compared to your other combats so you might have a hard time finding something to train it well against without getting hammered. Especially if you limit yourself to only 2 provinces. At this point I just completely ignore my multi while training since nothing teaches it well except elder armadillos and I'm still comfy in adults.
Multi is a skill that I encourage to ignore once it becomes a problem. It caps at only 750'ish anyway, I think.

Under current mechanics, multi scales very differently from other combat skills. I would only focus on it when it's holding you back. At some point, it just isn't going to be moving quickly anyway. Multi hard capped shy of 700 in super celps and moved very slowly in adult armadillos at that rank. I can lock it now in elders, but not as fast as you might think.
1004 shield, 1004 evasion, 922 parry (picked it up late), 706 multi, moon mage in elders.

It's a boar. It doesn't like you.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks, and to Vinjince and JMF for the info.
For the time being I think I'll just work on wrapping my brain around ignoring MO and letting it move at its own pace from here on out.
Looking forward to moving out to full time island hunting, I have to say. The only thing holding me back/limiting the provinces I've been considering is the RP revolving around the chrysalis in Theren and not wanting to be too far afield if something should pop up with it.

This will change when you get bored of hunting.

Rossman gryphons might teach.. if they actually attacked or did damaging attacks. I learn more from the littler ones there. Matures and up spend more time flying, retreating, and spellcasting, than actual attacks. They die real easy though.
I had the same problem with giants, dodging lightning didn't seem to teach too well, and they spend a lot of time prep/targetting it.
I think I already told you to avoid bulls, 5 bulls for 20 rooms is not fun. Thankfully there's rarely anyone there.
Try the big things out in Muspar'i yet? They're a short walk short barge ride from the chrysalis if you already have a passport.
Maybe basilisks or cinderbeasts in Haven?
and I think the Miseanor zombies might still be a bit over your head?(it's been awhile since i went in there)

<<<lol. He's trying to move UP, not take a step back>>>
I took young gryphons in rossmans to 550 in all defenses. Pretty easy too. And can still learn some weapons in the mid 400s range. Not sure how high they teach weapons, because my higher weapons are alot higher. Young gryphons in rossman are one of the most underrated critters in DR.

Actually, I did. It was 554. I went to ape after that. It flew to about 540. Then slowed, and became unbearable at 550. But I liked finding scrolls and stuff, so I stayed until 554 when it completely stopped. I can still lock leather there around 600.

Just as a follow-up/aside: Found a moonie willing to give me gates back and forth from the mainland. Took another shot at south barricade celps and I'm in love (until, as Taghz pointed out, I get bored of hunting).

Asterid can barely remember what he posts no less than a week after he posts it (see his most recent OOC conflict thread).
Youngs cap evasion at 500. I stayed until about 470-480, and 450 is when it started crawling. I gained probably 30-40 ranks of shield in that same amount of time, and Cined is Survival prime/Armor tert.
