germish'din don't teach as high in stealth as comparable critters at the same combat level, because they are coded not to be as perceptive <ic - their eyes are sewn shut>. You might try warklins and maulers <they are across the bridge from beisswurms>

Shadow beasts would be a good fit, but they are annoying IMO because of the randomly shifting maze (Zaulfung) to get in/out of there, plus the area is no hunt ("You find yourself unable to hunt in this area."). Plus they're mixed in with basilisks. Cinder beasts, like you said, have that exploding thing. No thanks.
Mountain giants in hib might be a good fit, they will teach your stealths at least 100 more than what you have now. Plus they drop boxes. The only possible bad thing is your defenses might move a little slow. But you probably wouldn't have to spend too long there until moving to stompers, if you wanted.
