do the metal drops scale? on 01/30/2013 08:18 PM CST

>Just wondering if the metal drops could scale with creatures? Like bronze bar in gobs, Kertig/Damite/etc in intercessors or top tier creatures? I keep seeing steel, brass, copper, electrum and pewter in intercessors. What do folks think?
I think rare (or good) metals are a flat no from drops.
Combat is lucrative enough, even with slower kill rates, that the GMs aren't going to say 'ok, don't bother mining ever again, just go farmfarmfarm'.
I think it would be awesome in TF, though.
Note: this is not a plug for Genie or Elanthipedia or Mars Bars.

I've found that overall - unless it's something with a special attack that is screwed up - the ladder is largely unchanged, obviously with a couple of exceptions. Most of the changes occur at the high end of a critters ranks. You can start most mobs at around the same ranks as before, you just can't milk them for as long as you used to be able to so you have to move on to the next mob sooner.

You can. Assassins still taught me evasion in the mid 1200s. It was just slow. They even taught me a little weapons just not well.

Kodius fled to the west in terror!

Grinding to hard caps though, you can make just about anything last - intercessors are substantially harder now than they were previously, much more difficult to transition to now.
Normal transitioning, IMO the only safe path is from elders and even then its fairly difficult.

From what i have seen so far, transitioning to next tier of hunting overall seems to be more difficult now - even at lower levels than intercessors. I don't know if it is just me but the rate of learning defenses doesn't seem to change much going from training at near caps to the mid range. Of course in the low/mid range you have to be prepared to take a good beating. So, milking the caps seems to be the only good option right now.
Otherwise, i have to agree, i don't think the hunting caps or ranges have changed much either.
