Here's an idea for a Muspar'i-ish critter, semi-stolen from Egyptian myth.

Appearing like a sandstorm shaped into a heavy armed humanoid, legend has it that sand warriors are all that is left of travelers who died of thirst in Velka's trackless wastes. Though seemingly insubstantial, it frequently lashes out at the surroundings in rage, using a blade-shaped storm to blast through rock, wood, and flesh with little effort.

Type: Incorporeal undead
Difficulty: You decide!

Also, might be fun to have them coded to gain power or become invisible during sandstorms (I reputed component of the severe weather system).

The mage is long since dead, but his constructs remain vigilant. With a violent cross-body motion, you draw your oversized book.

Why not just go full circle and have them be rats?

I love it. Bonus points if you put them in an easily accessible area near the Crossing.

I like the sand warrior idea.

I like the hulking draconic wats and wabbits too.
