I would like to try out Plat. How do I go about getting a trial?

Wonder where I got that? Thanks for the clarification, Ceo! We got several people to join or think about joining after VegasCon... A couple joined without the trial because I didn't think I could get them a free trial when they had warnings on their account <ducks>.

Hmm good question. I don't think there would be a problem with it but Ceo will have to answer. I remember it took me a while to get my trial in 2004, then I got it and ended up using only the last 3 days of it hahaha. Though, I never left so... it worked out in the end!

IIRC, the process is that you ask a current Plat player to sponsor you. That player sends an email with your account name to Ceosanna. If you haven't played Plat before, she should be able to arrange for a free, one month trial. However, it's been a while since I've be involved in the process, so it might have changed.

Currently, our website will not allow Trial users to access the Plat Forums (and probably can't get to the TF forums, either). Currently, not only can you not post to them, but you can't even SEE them.
We're in the process of getting that fixed.

It hasn't been mentioned recently so I'll post about it -
The drplat site is a good reference for folks thinking about the free trial, as well as people already on it. http://www.drplat.com If anything it can give you some idea about our history, especially the Tempest event, the Zoluren Orphanage Fundraiser we came up with, the Snow/Cialen events of late, and many other little tidbits of things going on. Finally, it gives folks a way to post themselves to a Who's Who with some background information to help people connect.

Everyone gets their own 90 day timer.
As to the original poster, you'll be fine. I plan on leaving the trial offer active at least til SimuCon.

Ach. I wanted to give it a try but am not going to get the chance to be online properly until late September. Any chance there may still be a lone trial still floating around at that point?

A plat player will still be able to sponsor you for a free 30-day trial after this summer is over.

You dont need a referral to gain access to the free trial. However, feel free to use this account as a referral if you wish. Plat is a great place to start learning the ropes of DR, as the community is fairly close and many people are willing to help out new players and characters.
