I know this is a dumb question, but I guess I'll ask this anyway. I would just like some input from others, I guess.
Well, I've played Prime before and liked it. I'm able return to the game and I have the option of Premium, now that I have a stable job. I'm an extremely casual player, meaning that I may be able to play about 3-4 times a week. I love RPing and I don't mind paying a little bit more to be involved in it. At first I was going to stop at Premium, since I would still be able to get access to special areas, homes, etc. But, then I found that Plat is just $10 more a month.
So, just for the causal player, which is better? I know I can have a character on Premium and on Plat, BUT I know right now, I may not have a much time as I'd like to play both. Also, I was considering the amount of people online during my times of playing - especially in Plat where the numbers are pretty low. The events and GM-run things seem like fun, too. Especially since they happen more often in Plat. I guess I can be labeled a hardcore RPer, so Plat would be a good choice.
I know I'm going back and forth. I guess the only reason I'm even thinking so hard is because its a difference of $10 (Which could go right in my gas tank if I don't use it here. :D). By the way, I thought the difference services has a larger gap. But its been years since I've played last. Anyone remember how much they were before?
Thanks!!

I came back a few years ago after a long absence. I tried prime first, and then went to plat. I prefer the smaller player population so that wasn't a "downside" to me. I don't even consider myself a hardcore RPer but I still prefer the atmosphere in plat. I like that I know who most of the characters are. It always adds to the feeling that the characters we play are somewhat "special" instead of the normal population.
More recently we've been having a bunch of GM run events. These aren't world changing grand RP plots, more like little plots that a few players can get involved in if they like (we've been moving toward having prior notice of all events to help players plan their time). The GM's that run the events are really good at it. Almost all events are suited to the characters that show up to play. In prime I always felt like more of a spectator, whereas in plat I feel more involved.
the only possible downside is for folks that do like a lot of people around. Right now there are only 10 people in Plat, and there are plenty of times where there are only 3 or 4 folks logged in at a time. Chat and jump jewelry really help a lot in dealing with the low population issues IMHO though.

Personally, I prefer Plat to Prime. The characters there are "characters" and not mindless training machines, and there is generally a lot more "stuff" going on there than in Prime, even during weekday evenings.
