I tried that last January, even had a big-ole GM wedding for RL cash. I was hoping the bribe would get me a last name! Alas my plight continues. ::twitch::

How hard is it, especially when you pay for a GM wedding, to allow spouses to share last names? Even if they made it like 10 or 15 bucks that you had to pay for a bonded couple to share their last name. Hey Simu! Lookee here a new way to make a few bucks!!

Since neither he nor the bride have last names, they'd have to finish off the last name system.

Fine. I'm wrong.

Not always true....one of my characters have a last name, if she bonded to someone who didn't have a last name why couldn't he take hers or vice versa?

I'll highlight the bit you ignored.

Since ->neither<- he ->nor<- the bride have last names, they'd have to finish off the last name system.

And I'm speaking in a broader term than just the person in question or didn't you notice that? If one OR the other has a last name then they should be allowed to share it. So fine, your wrong. :-P

They can.

That isn't the issue.

It's possible. With GM weddings (I'm not sure of the price req) bonding rings are given out. These let the couple share last names.

And as an aside, you don't need the $200 queen's package for those rings. They come with the $50 prince's package as well.

Yes, last names are shared with the bonding rings via a Queen's Wedding Package.. The problem is that the groom doesn't have a last name (listed, it's there damnit just hidden), and so the bride can't take it.

Solomon hinted that it would be coming out in Merelew, but then that got shelved for the alteration scrolls (my assumption). If there is enough there, could say, for the weddings, an exception be made to allow for the Husband to get a last name so the wife can have it too?

Or will the system be out soon enough that holding your breath won't kill you?

I haven't played with elen's ring since she got it, but it's one of the verbs, like turn or rub or something like that.

Ok, I've just spent time reading through the options of the Prince's wedding package and the Queen's wedding package. In the Queen's package it specifically says that last name sharing will be allowed but on the Prince's it says nothing about that...

It's physically impossible to hold your breath long enough to kill yourself. The fall from when you pass out, however, could, depending on the circumstances and what you fall into.

We did a Prince wedding thing for the tenth anniversary and it included the rings to change the name. We're just fortunate in that we have last names to share. Hanryu's issue is that neither he or his bride had a last name to share so neither has one still.
