Okay, in response to a couple questions, first the off topic geometry one, two points define a line, three points can define a plane, and the issue is neither here nor there, that's how mathmeticians describe them. The actual idea is using those points to try to graph these numbers over time, and that's not a line or a plane.
The part everyone is curious about is, "what kind of trend are we seeing?" And I think right now, the answer is, it's way too early for trends. Three weeks of data isn't enough to say anything about anything. Having been here for years, I'll be just as interested in those trends as everyone else, but I'm not sure how much is going to come out of that.
One thing I think I can say about the numbers already put out is, the decrease in numbers last week can probably be attributed to something I see every year about this time, and that is, in most places, school actually gets going the week after Labor Day. Some places don't start until then, others, that week before hand is not always all that serious, and colleges are the same way. Less time to play means less time to get in trouble. That said, I expect a bump back up around Thanksgiving and another around Christmas break, those would be "normal." We'll see how my predictions play out in a few months.
And since we started out talking about math, here's a cool math related link. http://www.snopes.com/college/homework/unsolvable.asp

Math and Geometry discussions need to go to the Life In the Real World topic, please.
Discussion of "lockout trends", however, are over. We aren't going to get into that.

<<You're not leaving us much to work with here.>>
Precisely.
As I said when we first announced this, there really shouldn't be a need for any "discussion" about The Blotter.

<<Will His Lordship deign to give us a reason why it is forbidden to discuss the Blotter?>>
Because there's no reason to discuss it. We're posting numbers. There's no need to discuss trends, or speculate about who's who, or make assumptions about whether the staff is spending too much or too little time warning people or anything like that.
The Blotter is being posted purely for informational purposes. Anything not coming from a Red Name will be speculation or guesstimation and Red Name folks have no reason to go into details about specific situations so no Red Names should have much to say about it, other than Lockout, who might make an occasional observation, but even he shouldn't be posting anything that will open the floor for debate or discussion. I already spoke with him about that and he's completely on the same page with me on it.
Questions like the one DAMADWEBBA posted like "can you post circle information" are fine, but once they're answered, there's really no reason to continue to discuss the pros and cons of whether we should or not.

We speculate about everything on these boards and everyone should understand it as such. Why is this different?

Hey, Bubba, there are still folders aside from official GM announcements folders that don't allow non-GMs to post in them (the only one I happen to know about is an obscure one in the Bard topic). Since Sang is a staffmember and thus entitled to post in certain areas we are not (at least, I assume he does given his red-letter status), why not just have Cecco edit this folder to be like that obscure bard folder?
Or was that one some old folder from an older version of the board software?
J'Lo, no that other one

<<Probably to give us the option of suggesting things.>>
Exactly.
Again folks, the occasional question, request for clarification, or something like that? No issues.
When we have people wanting to discuss trends, wanting to "make a case" for revealing more information about who these people are, or things of that nature? No.

Aw, but they're bored and want something to do. Maybe label the folder "No GMs" and let them have their cake and eat it, also.
