I have been playing around with the ambushes and I am concerned that only two seem to be useful in normal day to day PvE. STUN and SCREEN will be my go to in normal hunting.
I have not figured out what CLOUT or SLASH will be useful for day to day. Maybe CLOUT can also significantly reduce balance since the messaging seems to imply disorientation (The desert armadillo staggers before shaking its head wildly. The desert armadillo's eyes drift unfocused as it tries to regain its bearings).
CLOUT used to be my favorite ambush because it could be used while holding anything in the right hand (crossbow, bow, sling) as long as the left was empty. STUN is nowhere near as versatile and now thieves have lost the ability to put there opponent to sleep while aiming a ranged weapon.
The AMBUSH HELP for CLOUT says its a modified version of STUN which doesn't explain what it does in Test.
Would it be possible to add a stun or maybe immobilize effect to SLASH?
Ambushes teach debilitation very well, any chance the weapon and backstab experience could be upped? Ambushing used to be a good way to learn weapons before 3.0.

Well, clout for PvE is designed for spell casting creatures and anti-mage PvP, though I don't mind thinking on adding something else to it that makes it more useful for day to day hunting.
Slash should also be kneeling the target on good wins, perhaps I need to lower that threshold a bit since folks are moving into harder territory for other reasons.

Maybe. I'm still gauging where everything combat/exp settles at before getting into these sorts of specific ability exp rewards.

Every single ambush needs to be more accurate and have more oomph at level. I have trouble consistently getting good or major successes even under hunting.
I even switched my Deb to my 1st super and the results are still lackluster. If it stays as it is I'll need to do a lot of training to actually be de-buffing things at level.
This is not an exp concern as Deb teaches just fine for me, regardless of fail, success minor, success good, or success major.
Clout seems to be hugely impacted by player's armor and vs npc mobs I haven't really noticed them ever seem to actually stop casting or start to fail casts.
Slash could use something to make it a little more interesting for pve, but I suppose its ok to have abilities that are more pvp-centric. As far as kneeling... balance changes in pve can be pretty good, but 99% of the time the mob is back on its feet and back at good balance before your RT is even up.
Choke is just really hard to see if its doing anything.
Off topic but maybe related in the code, Prowess and Guile. The messaging implies I'm getting good or major successes, but against something at level, or a bit under me, it's very hard to notice any difference.
