Okay whats best way to get IF moving...
while in combat killing fast as I can for an hour straight and locking several weapons on stuff that teaches me well I can't seem to get above 1/3rd even using only 1 form... at 77th circle and not using any berserks or other abilities.
Wasn't there going to be an ability that boosted IF gain on kills?

Just for clarity, do you mean filling the IF pool, or moving the IF skill? That's two different thigs and I THINK you mean filling the pool?
But if you mean training the IF skill, you'll have to use forms and meditations and berserks, more than just one.
Adding nothing to the conversation since 1834.

Might have the syntax wrong, but I think MEDITATE FULL does this.

Yea filling the IF pool. I can get the skill locked in no time.. but filling it ... never going to happen.. Even using just 1 form I can barley get it above the passive levels no matter how much I kill.. locked 5 weapons. tried with 3 forms 2 forms and 1 form.. dosent seem to matter how many forms I use.
I can keep 3 forms up even outside of combat and see almost no diffrence to IF from when in combat with 3 forms up and killing fast.

I don't have a larger Barb to test with, so others will have to fill that bit in, but with 10th, 25th and 55th circle barbs, the best I was able to manage while running abilities and killing constantly was "twice your height." That took dedicated work and my faster-killing weapons with the 10th circle (9sec RTs are bad for building IF), and required me to run only one form with the other two. I honestly never tested very long without using abilities, because I was still playing with ways to maximize efficient use of them. This means I'm not sure how hard it would be for me to build fire past the 1/3 point if I were killing without anything up. This was Plat-side. I also haven't been IG really for the last couple of weeks, so I'm not sure how any tweaks made in the last two weeks might change any of that.

>>Next question is how're you measuring? Just for clarity. <<
measuring with meditate power.
I can't seem to use meditates or berserks in combat with forms at all. I can start a meditate outside combat.. wait for IF to get to full passive again and then start 2 forms go in combat and keep them all up but never make any headway on my IF pool level.
Not even sure if I could keep 3 forms up with a meditate going while in combat I'll test it out. 77th circle barb I thought I should be able to use 3 forms with an meditate and berserk once in a while in combat and be able to start filling my IF pool. As is I can't even use 2 forms and a bersker in combat more then 1 time because after the 1st berserk I'll never have enough IF to do it again unless I drop my forms and let my passive recharge to full amount again.
I'm going to see if I can even fill my IF pool while using no ablities at all.
Not trying to be negative at all, just I'm doing something wrong perhaps or it needs further adjustment. Love the work and effort so far looks to have promise.

That sounds about how things are for my 55th circle Barb. Based on that, I was going to say I agreed that by 77th I'd expect to be able to throw an occasional berserk on top of those two forms and be fine. And then I started typing this part: I think three plus a zerk would be pushing it even at 77th though. Berserks do have a larger matintenace cost than forms, so keeping one berserk going is not as easy as one form.
So running two forms plus a berserk might cost the same as IF running three and a half or four forms. We can't run 3.5 - 4 forms indefinitely, with constant killing, even at 100th circle, much less gain on our Inner Fire.

Okay did another test using no abilities at all killing as fast as possible doing nothing but attack not even pausing to skin etc. almost non stop swarm in combat with only a brief pause for like 3 seconds. took 20 mins to go from full passive IF to a little over 2/3rds full.... problem was then I sat in combat but didnt kill anything.. in only 3 mins it was down a noticable bit... decay rate of IF pool seems very, very fast. If I was taking time to skin everything and use the hunt verb and apprasing in combat with other time spent not killing every single second etc with that type of decay rate I'm not sure how fast IF would build and that might be a big part of the problem.
