Is it just me or does it seem a little odd that Rangers get light armor, chain armor and brigandine(LP) and Barbarians only get shield and light armor.
I would think that someone who spends a lot of time in combat would get better bonuses in different types of armor over a tree hugger.

Hrm....hard to say. Your both armor secondaries, might just be they have actual BOOSTERS to it (ergo why its on their list) vs Barbarians? A glance at the list seems to show barbs comfortably leading anyone else for skills they can boost, and it seems while rangers and thieves are both survival primary they dont all have the same skills under their belts for influence. I do agree that Rangers having brigandine seems odd conceptually.

Yes, if you just write out a list, Barbarians have the most skills in their listed spheres of influence.
However, this is because they have the most skills in their primary skillset. Unlike skills in the magic or lore or survival skillsets, all the skills in the weapon skillset save parry are functionally the same, and they are limited to one application at a time. I don't think possible armor enhancements should be penalized because Dragon Dance can bonus both small blunts and heavy blunts, or because Eagle Dance gives a bonus to slings as well as crossbows.
Warding should definitely be on there, either way.

Certainly, although with the exception of shield the same can be said about the armor skill set. As a Paladin I get a number of weapons in my SoI, but not all of them. I expect if everyone could make a case that they should have SoI's to every skill in their secondary skill sets the whole idea behind SoI's would be a bit irrelevant.
I also feel 3.0 is trying to split up weapons to not all serve the same role perse, since with the changes in the combat formula we now are subtly having reason you might want to use light blunts vs heavy blunts. If thats the direction Kodius is going, along with weapon feats, I think having such a verbose primary skill set wont just appear to be bloated.
