Are you having issues with successful backstabs too, Yamcer? Just completely guessing, but if you're not having problems with backstab and snipe, but still are with those ambushes, it seems to me that the problem might be tied to hybrid/stealth checks related to those ambushes as opposed to straight stealth checks (which seem more associated with backstab/snipe).

Backstab and snipe are looking fine. I don't snipe much in 2.0 so I have less experience with it. Backstab still seams to hit arms a lot but I haven't had any failures with it. Loading while hidden is succeeding like it should.

So yeah, seems to be an ambush issue still.

I just did some testing with Vinjince.

Stealth has been worked on. No more auto spot when loading, talking...etc

I did notice a change in sniping. Shooting vinjince with full aim outta hiding... I got an pretty decent hit. Hide, try to snipe, completely miss - and he saw me. Did the same thing with poach, got a 1 level harder hit over just standing and shooting.

I don't have time to do any testing tonight but from what I saw Saturday I agree with Yamcer about Thief ambush attacks not working effectively. I know I couldn't pull off a slash, stun, or sight on bristle-back peccary or germish'din with 500 stealth, 415 backstab, 400 small edge, 250ish LT and SB. I have no problem hitting them with these attacks in Prime and I have less skill over there due to some grandfathering.

Yamcer are you actually hitting backs now? It is still 100% "Armstab" for me.

Can randomly get something besides "armstab" on the final blow. Seems like you have shave off the arms to get at the vital parts. IMO

In regular combat I tend to hit extremities more than core body parts. Usually if I aim for a body part and outclass the opponent by enough, I'll hit the core body part I aim for.

Have you guys tried to BACKSTAB BACK or other vital body part like that? Just curious if that might have better results.

backstab back is not legitimate syntax.

>backstab back
I could not find what you were referring to.
Your sabre is a little awkward, but usable.
Backstab what?

in test, tested on shalswar, although most stabs are to the arm, I am killing them successfully, with the "armstab", a few attacks <primarily the last one - the one thats the final blow> go to other areas than the arm. <head, neck, back>

Keep in mind, that if you're hitting limbs most of the time, that's actually better damage-wise in 3.0 than hitting the torso area.
