>>What? Who has a Vs Will barrier except for Moon Mages and Bards?
Thieves also have a one-shot vs will barrier.

Barbs, while not using MANA, are still under the 'magic' skill (warding?) for their barrier.

>Does this mean that dispel/rend will work on their abilities? This is the part I'm confused about.
Barbs use the 'magic' skillset to power their skills, as it's a skill based game. Their abilities are not magical or divine etc. in nature, but fundamental to their own bodies, so my expectation is that they are not dispellable.
They also come with a fairly robust suite of penalties and drawbacks, and it's perfectly reasonable for barb abilities to effect mana based abilities but not the other way around, as a perk of being the 'anti magic' guild.
Or: uses the magic skills to function because skills in skill based game, lore says not magic.
Adding nothing to the conversation since 1834.

I think some barb buffs can be dispelled but I can't remember the post saying that, and I haven't tested it. I would think they would work on the same model as cyclic/rituals where some just can't be touched. WTB any barb to test real quick in Test if we don't get an answer, shoot me an IM at insolentwraith and I'll jump in.
Regarding dispels in general, I did more testing tonight with a certain vicious bard, and it seems like rend scales considerably better than dispel and MB, so I can't complain there. And dispel certainly has a niche between barrier types that I had written off previously. While the specific will barriers like psy shield hold it off very well, shear gets punched in its face. I think my original feel for the dispel problems was influenced by the fact that I wasn't aware of the cyclic/ritual immunity, or (at the time) the stored spell in orbs immunity.

As of the last time it was mentioned, Barbarian abilities will not be dispellable by magic.

>>does thumping still kill bard enchantes and stuff?
Enchantes are cyclic spells by every definition now, so unless thump destroys other cyclic spells then it probably wouldn't work against a Bard :P
