I would like the necro Throne City prep to cause SO.
I mentioned this a while ago, and GM Armifer said he didn't want to do it because people already had the prep. This seems like a great time to change it, since people will be having all their TDPs refunded.

[Request] Necro Prep on 12/01/2012 11:17 PM CST
Re: Necro Prep on 12/01/2012 11:26 PM CST
Im not sure why a spell prep would do that especially since anyone can learn it. That and it would make it 100% undesirable. Necros wouldnt use it to not be outted and no one else would cause why would you want to have to worry about casting a spell in town when all your doin is composting or casting CV and then getting jailed for it. Having souls wail around you or your eyes turning jet black looks just as shady or evil even. The spell preps dont cost TDPs either... its all money on those. Just seems counter intuitive.

Yes. But some people use the Necrolord title and wander around in those SO generating costumes.

"xxxxx skin briefly withers and tightens, becoming unnaturally gaunt as he mutters some foul phrase."
There's evil, then there's necromantic.
Paladins and clerics can't pick up that prep. It was specifically stated before that it is a necromancer prep.
And considering the atmosphere of fear, that should be enough.

First... theres actually a Necrolord title other than NPC wise? I find that amusing though a little silly. The SO equipment... eh Ive got no real argument there since I have one of each piece in my vault though I certainly dont wear any of it.

Dont get me wrong I certainly see your angle, but at the same time anyone can pick any of those preps (except the afformentioned two which I attribute to guild leaders discretion) and while I could see some level of suspicion in the form of the odd glance here and there I cant see a real reason to fine or jail someone for prepping a normal spell in an odd way. Even with the fear issue it would be discovered each time that they were arrested that they hadnt done anything wrong. Just seems needless to me. It wouldnt make a ton of difference to me either way to be honest but with how open its been up until now I dont see the point in making it nearly pointless to have it unless your just a glutton for not being able to use any town services and fines.

There's evil, there's Necromantic, and there's the general population who don't tend to care about the difference.

It's a 150th title, isn't it? No less silly than "transcendent" anything, in my opinion.
As for the prep, makes sense to me to open it to paladins and clerics instead of it causing SO. There's a pile of spell effects and processes in a number of guilds that should scare the &% out of the peasants a lot more than the botox prep. That we ooc know it's a "necromancer prep" doesn't really mean much, but for consistency, it seems like there should either be SO and no holy access, or no SO and universal access.
