Im not sure if there is a reliable way to test this so I figured Id ask here. Do we know how much the mana % expands with attunement skill? My concern is the mounting dependability on cambrinth items. I love cambrinth and I use it often, but I dont feel like I should be required to use it. As it is now (and Im going to use my mage and I would like others to share their experiences as well in case Im a rare abnormality) Im at 90th circle magics and to move them properly I have to cast in the 70-80 mana ranges. Now with cambrinth this is still doable. Without cambrinth it is not. I can cast maybe two casts at my personal cap and Im empty on my mana %. This greatly bothers me because this is universal regardless of spell being cast.
Now I ask the mana pool question because Im trying to figure out if theres a reason that we arent seeing an exponential growth in our attunement/mana pools as our attunement skill grows. The way I see it is that when I was 30th circle and casting at 20 mana was my cap and it would drain lets say 10% or so (depending on the mana that day) per cast now that Im 90th I should be able to cast my 60-70 mana personal cap and be draining the same % of mana. And I should be able to toss those 20-30 mana casts around like they were nothing. But what is actually happening is that Im still burning just as much attunement % casting a spell at 20 mana with 400-500 rank magics as I was with 100-200 rank magics. Now in 2.0 where you can cap a spell by circle 60 this is fine.. youre never casting that high simply because 20 mana casts work fine for teaching. But now in 3.0 the bar has been raised for every skill except attunement it seems. You need to cast 80 mana spells to work your skills but you lack the ability to do so without becoming entirely dependent on cambrinth? That seems like an oversight.
Maybe I could be a rare example but Im seeing a lot of folks who talk as if they are now totally reliant on cambrinth to train and while I think you should use camb you should not be forced to. And granted you arent "forced" to now since you can cast spells without it but 1-2 casts sans camb before your tapped feels like being forced to me. I see this as not only a player issue since as I said above I shouldnt be forced into camb use to move my skills properly, but I also see it as a character issue. We have these characters who by certain points in their careers should be able to do things far beyond what lower characters can. And while in a way they can they are seemingly more limited in scope than they should be. It should be trivial for a mage who can cap a 100 mana spell with ease to throw 50-60 mana preps around most of the day. They should have the knowledge of how to better use the energies (attunement). As it is now I would expect to see Gauthus and Kssarh drained after one or two capped casts of SW and CV.
