Any chance of getting an advanced Warding spell for necros? Or possibly modifying one of the existing two to make it advanced and / or cyclic (WORM)?
CH works ok for training if I drain my attunement numerous times - seems like there should be a better way?

AFAIK, CH is an advanced ward. It being listed as basic on the spreadsheet is an error.
That said, you shouldn't explicitly need an advanced to train warding. You could learn just as well using WORM despite it being esoteric. If anything, it teaches even better.

Now that mana is fixed this is MUCH more functional - would still be nice to have a few more warding options, but I have no problem spamming CH until its locked (other than the DO hit?). WORM is a great spell, but not really practical for training IMO since it's primary function is intended & successful at specifically stopping casting (until you dispel it using another spell, of course).
I still say WORM should be cyclic - does it make sense to have to cast another spell to dispel a spell that's intended to prevent you from casting spells - in order to learn how to better cast spells?
That seems pretty cyclic to me...

Keep in mind that we do have access to Lay Ward and Manifest Force, too.

Good news - I didnt realize MAF was Warding but it makes sense. I didnt even know Lay Ward existed. Thanks for the info -
Is there a comprehensive spell list somewhere that contains accurate info on all spells? I've had misinformation about several things here recently (CH is advanced, LayWard & MAF are Warding spells, etc.)...

Anytime!
As an aside, Caraamon dumped the spell lists into epedia and I've been bumping up their sortability, so people could theoretically do something like go "what are the advanced warding spells in my guild?" and find out. All you need to do is click "difficulty" and then "skills" to have it show up as an ordered list that shows things like "debilitation from intro to esoteric" or whatever.
Best part is that since I play a Necro, I care about them most, so they got the first sortable list!

>>Generally, higher mana casts will give you a higher exp return, but you also must be casting at something that is challenging for your ranks.
Thanks. I knew I had to do this with target but didn't consider trying it with VOD and VS. Seems I have to go Up the critter ladder with 3.0 .
