During the meeting tonight I had an idea for something in regards to the traveling to far away locations. My idea would be firstly be for everyone, then an added perk with your premie ring that could have a timer if they wanted to limit it.

This idea incorporates the Closes mirror that randomly transports you to places. With all the guilds pretty much getting magic how about these magic users get together and build a similar type mirror portal in all the main towns. They would have to be actively powered by said magic users to be used, this could train some of that magic y'all sit around working on anyways. The premie perk would be if you have your ring on it could send a power charge into the mirror to be used for however often they'd want to limit it to.

On a whim...: http://www.lostonawhim.com/

The Zoluren army asks, "We're um.... really sorry about the clubhouse and all... so uh... are we cool?"

Train? Why? I'll get there eventually...

I like the idea of making travel easier so that places are more accessible to everyone.

I would definitely like to see it work with a premie ring if something like this is added, as a convenience thing. Allow for a premium user to use the ring to forcefully charge the mirror to full. Have the mirror deplete with charge somewhat quickly like what warrior mage summoning charge / cleric devotion / barb inner magic rage stuff works, where it ticks down a level of charge periodically. Needs a full charge to function properly.

It would encourage interaction between players to keep these mirrors charged or get them charged to use them for transport.

Perhaps charging them, requiring a constant focus on the streams, trains up your power perception if you're stationary, something like climb practice does if you're stationary, versus actually walking around climbing things. ie. perception practice mirror.

My question would be where would these mirrors be able to take you? Also, consider if you cannot set the location you want to go to, it can become more of a hinderance than a help, because you might get transported in the opposite direction of where you want to go. I like the idea but I wonder if people might become more frustrated with it and decline not to use it because they have no control of where they land.

I would say that it would have some kind of tuning device that would allow you to set it to a particular location, but I would think that the locations would have to be very limited in choice, so might be just as well to simply have it open one set 'shortcut' between two points.

For some reason, I have this vision of mirror gates around Shard, where the province ends just south of Zoluren to the Shard E gate, and another one just before Forffedhar that connects to the W gate, as something they came up with, but with a limited range.

I would also love to see something of a gate that goes from the warrior mage guild in Crossing to the Chyolvea Tayeu'a fortress, that functioned somewhat like this. That way you knew always where you would end up, it would still be a useful method of transport. It would be fun to have a kind of device that makes you travel the ethereal pathways/elemental pathways without any control over it, giving you random visions of things as you pass through the pathway to the other side. This stems from me wanting to walk into an elemental fissure and see where it takes me.

Aesthene was insane.

You could interact with rangers and moon mages right now and get anywhere on the mainland in minutes. Often the islands in as short a time. Or train athletics and take care of mainland travel yourself. The options already ingame for fast travel are many.
