The premium exchange does not exchange currencies. The teller still provides this option, but I think it does so at the higher fee (versus the lower fee at the premium exchange).

There's only one currency exchange in Fang Cove and I'm pretty sure it's the same rate as the Premium Clubhouse bank in Crossing (3%?). I think you take the ladder where you first enter the dome.

yes, from the entrance, its climb ladder to exchange, up, go step to deposit. west to pay provincial debt for all provinces.

one problem though, although ostensibly FC is in ilithi, it has no regular place to pay debt to that province and charges you the fee to pay ilithi even though its "in" ilithi.

Be sure you're in the "Exchanges" room, not the "Foreign Exchange" room:

>exchange 30 plat kron for lir
>You count out 30 platinum Kronars and drop them in the proper jar. After figuring a trivial fee in the ledger beside the jar, you reach into the one filled with Lirums and withdraw 23 platinum, 2 gold, and 8 silver Lirums.

You can pay the debt to any province in the Foreign Exchange (west) room. Just use PAY for the syntax. Unless I'm misunderstanding?

I mean one that you can pay to Ilithi without an extra fee involved. As, you can pay one in Shard to Ilithi, you can pay in either Theren or Riverhaven for Therengia, you can pay in Leth or Crossing for Zoluren, You can pay on Mer'kresh, Aesry or Ratha for Qi. If FCove is ostensibly part of Ilithi, you should be able to pay Ilithi debt there without paying an extra fee. :-)

If they were able to just walk the coin over to Shard and pay off the Ilithi debt, why would Fang Cove still be so isolated?

It makes no sense to be able to pay off debt there, unless the debt is to Fang Covia.

presumably they are in contact with them, the same way as they instantly pay off debt to the other provinces.

Yes. Via moongate. The same way you withdraw funds from non-current locations. The same way a bloody Western Union charges a % fee to send a Money Order even if it's across town, because that's what they do.

Which is all moot because FC isn't in whatever province you're arguing about any more than Puerto Rico is 'in' the US. If you can't afford the 1-5% fee to pay your debt, then don't.

it is arguably the same distance as Muspar'i to Riverhaven. Yet my character that is a citizen of Velaka I can pay my citizen dues <for Muspar'i>, which shows as Therengian debt, in Riverhaven, with no extra fee. Because there is an option for PROVINCIAL debt. So is Fang Cove part of the province of ILITHI or not?

So I can't pay my characters Ilithi debt in FC without paying an extra fee... Doesn't make for consistency.

I'd wager that it's a lot harder to travel between Shard and FC than Muspar'i and Riverhaven, but that's beside the point.

While I have nothing against a debt office in FC (personally I'd rather see a few other things come up way before that), I don't think there is an explicit requirement for consistency.

IMO No town hall means no place to pay debt = a fee, they'be got papers to file, an moon mages to feed.
Does Ilithi even knows the exact location of the Cove, for tax district lines, land holdongs, and what not?

Also the Cove works on the honesty system(there are jars instead of a bank), so in theory you could probably just scratch your debt out if there was a place. Which would be awesome.

A town hall would be convenient, and I'd build the hell out of it, but the Exchange Mage works fine for now(for me at least). I imagine that'll change once we can get a home there, there are more expansions, or some shop goes in that we'd need a horde of plats in the cove.

I'm all for expansions made in the cove. Housing, and, moreso - Crafting halls. They could be an add-on to the existing shops, after all, there's already a tailor/bard and forger/blacksmith sorta guy there.
