I'm new to the home buying process and a bit confused by what I read in HOME HELP. I'm two weeks away from being able to buy a house and I'd prefer not to waste any coin.

My basic question is this: If I buy an unremarkable cottage is it possible to change the description to a stone or rock cottage? If so, how? And, even it's something other than unremarkable, such as pine-trimmed or oak-gabled or some such, is it possible to change it?

I've gathered enough information to know that I can add stuff to the outside of my home, but can change what it's actually made of?
