What did the rings look like, I want to check to see if I have one in my vault somewhere.

They're the standard Estate Holder rings we've been giving out at meetings and such for years. However, the "old" ones won't work unless you visit a merchant such as Keish to unlock the features in your ring.

There's about as many variations of these rings as there are the various guild crest rings. Different materials/sizes/etc.

I'm curious as to why the merchant's arrival wasn't put through the twitter feed, seems like it would be perfect for it.

One last question, Are the rings only useable by the person who has them made or can I get one with my moonie and pass it off to my cleric?

They bond to the owner, so no you cannot pass them off. Keishalae will be around several times in the next couple of weeks though, so try to catch her with your cleric.

I think I'm broken....

> tap ring
You tap a platinum ring engraved with the Estate Holder's crest that you are wearing.
> study ring
You take on a studious look.
> pull ring
I'm afraid that you can't pull that.

Also, it seems that the adjective isn't working...

>You are wearing a platinum ring engraved with the Estate Holder's crest
> pull platinum ring
I'm afraid that you can't pull that.
> l platinum ring
I could not find what you were referring to.

I JUST grabbed this off the table in the blue tent.

They need to be enchanted by a merchant before they will work.

Please? Especially for tonight and this weekend. It would be great to have all of the portals be open so we can all get squared away.

The portals were open yesterday evening from various cities and since it is a Fang Cove event I would imagine they would remain open. Thank you Z & Lyneya.

My question is why do we need a face to face alterer to enchant the ring. Why can't it just be that way when we pick them up?

or be able to purchase them in a 24/7 shop?

not everyone plays when there are GM-possesed merchants around. If i play at 4 am in the morning, i doubt someone is gonna want to fix up a ring for me.

Thank for the speedy work-around by the way :) It is very much appreciated. Hoping I can 1) Locate the shop with one of these special Estate Holder rings(or can it be any ring?) and 2) See the merchant this evening.

It has to be a ring that says Estate Holder on it. There is one available in the gift tent next to the portal at the moment.

As I explained in another post, the portals will be open at least through the next meeting, and then in the future for meetings and events. A merchant enchanting rings will count as an event.

>My question is why do we need a face to face alterer to enchant the ring. Why can't it just be that way when we pick them up?

Getting the enchantment for free should be considered a "release perk". We're working towards having an automatic way for you all to accomplish the enchantment, but until that happens a merchant is the only way.

>or be able to purchase them in a 24/7 shop?

Not pre-activated, no. Maybe eventually as an LTB.

>Thank for the speedy work-around by the way :)

You're welcome! I am very proud of this, as I'm not much of a coder. GMs Socharis, Armifer and Zadraes helped me out a ton in getting it set up correctly.

>Hoping I can 1) Locate the shop with one of these special Estate Holder rings(or can it be any ring?)

No, it needs to be a ring with the Estate Holder's crest. They were given out after the last meeting (I did tell you all they'd become useful soon!) and are still available in the sky blue tent.

Big thanks! Nice idea!

Regarding having my ring enchanted: Is this to say there's a merchant in the caves now, and this is an NPC? Or is this a scheduled live merchant I need to try can catch up with?

a live GMPC, the Witch Keishalae. Walk through the portal, if she's there she'll be standing right on the other side of the portal next to the blue tent with the rings.

I'm curious when you roll up a new premium character they arrive with a bent copper ring engraved with the Estate Holder's crest. Can these be used? Or is it only the ones from the tent?

If you get an Estate Holder's ring unlocked and then get it altered to not say Estate Holder's in the tap or look, will it still function?

Glad the Witch stayed around for a while doing this tonight. Had to lose an archery contest and didn't figure she'd be around still.

On a side note Jaedren you lied to me about my map. But i found it anyway

These rings can be altered, but must retain the crest in some form. So no.

Ok, I've got a wild idea for you... This is partly for Jaedren as well, so J! PAY ATTENTION! :P

I've acquired a voucher recently for jewelry work, which will have to be redeemed by another alterer. I was considering just selling it again, buuuutttt....... and J here's where you come in...

Assming I wait for Snidley again, could I have him alter my estate holders ring to include a chakrel embossed Estate Holder's Crest AND get the chakrel functional along with the estate holders part of the ring?

Nope. It'd either be the chakrel function, or the Estate Holder functions. Can't combine the two, unfortunately.

Awww.... that saddens me.... :( I guess that leaves me open to a chakrel alteration that I don't have any Estate Holder's restrictions..

Here's another question. Can I use my alteration voucher to "combine" the ring with another piece of jewelry? IE put it into an amulet or something like that? Just getting an idea for some stuff I can do to not take up a ring slot...

As an idea for this, would the ring still work if you put it on one of those ring chains?(guessing not)

I'd really love it if we could do this as well. Maybe make it into an estate holder hair pin something general worn instead of ring worn?

Also, it has to have the crest somewhere, but can it be in the long look and not the short look? And can alterations be used to change the metal if I provide an appropriate amount of the metal I want it to be made out of?

FWIW I keep the ring in a spare pouch and if I need it I'll get it out and tap/rub/whatever to pull off the effects. Then just stow it when I'm done.

Just out of curiosity if I decide to alter the ring, what would happen if for some reason I had to leave DR for awhile, or go off premie? Would I keep the ring and be able to get it re-enchanted when I came back to premie status?
