I have come across issues reinforcing armor. I keep getting stuck when it needs to be reassembled with pliers. I'm not sure if something has changed or if I am doing something wrong.

* I have the required Metal Armor Reinforcing technique.
* I have successfully reinforced a damite ring mask before, on June 28 of 2015 with significantly less Forging skill.
* On March 10, I also could not reinforce some heavy plate greaves. At the time I chalked that one up to difficulty, but I state this in case the dates help narrow down a change in Forging.

You angle a section of your mask alongside the spinning wheel, and adjust the metal to better accomodate leather reinforcement.

With the grinding complete, the armor now needs reassembly with a hammer.

You put your mask on the iron anvil.

>untie hammer
You remove a polished forging hammer crafted from engraved icesteel from your forger's belt.

>pound mask with hammer
The mask appears ready to be reinforced with some leather strips.

You begin to reassemble your mask, but find several of the pieces won't quite fit. After grabbing your hammer, you gently tap them back into place.

Some pliers are now required to stitch the armor's smaller sections back together.
Roundtime: 21 sec.

>tie hammer to forge belt
You attach a polished forging hammer crafted from engraved icesteel to your forger's belt.

>get mask
You get a damite ring mask from atop an iron anvil.

>tie tongs to forge belt
You attach some polished tongs crafted from engraved icesteel to your forger's belt.

>get strips
You get some leather strips from inside your prospector's backpack.

>assemble strips with mask
You place your strips with your ring mask and carefully mark where it will attach when you continue crafting.
<<As an aside, the messaging appears different. In the past this used to say "You layer the leather strips inside the robe, reinforcing the design." and the leather strips were not consumed. Now the leather strips are consumed and I cannot continue.

>untie pliers
You remove some kadepa hooked pliers with a tempered finish from your forger's belt.

>pull mask with pliers
This item appears too complicated to reinforce.

>analyze mask
The mask appears to be in the process of being enhanced. It may not be fully usable until the process is completed.

You analyze every minute detail of the ring mask and smile knowingly to yourself.
When crafting is complete this will be a type of finished metal armor enhancement.
The larger sections are pounded back into place, but now the smaller pieces need assembling. Hold the armor and PULL it with some pliers to tack it back up.
From the progress so far, it looks like the mask is masterfully-crafted.
The mask is an easy piece to make.
You estimate that it is three-quarters done.
The metal appears to be composed of: 67.01% damite, and 32.98% platinum.
Roundtime: 10 sec.

>>GOLDENOAK: Never tried this task before, but just out of curiousity are you wearing a mask? I find all to often some aspect of crafting (or elsewhere) reverts to what I am wearing, or sometimes even whats in my backpack as opposed to the one I am intending to work on.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'm fairly certain I am targeting the right item. The message about being too complicated to reinforce seems to indicate that as well.

It was suggested I also add some details of the process to get to the point where I am:

1. The mask was forged
2. I marked the mask with a maker's mark
3. I tempered the mask
4. I began to reinforce the mask (see above)

A bug report was also submitted with the mask and pliers in hand.

I find an unusual bug with reinforcing where the scripts were getting confused. This should be fixed for all new items.
