i know this has been posted before, but i can't find it. What is the stat of metal that determines enchantability? I just remember steel is easier than kertig and kertig is easier than tyrium. But what do I need to look at to determine the enchantability of other metals?

Hardness for forging. High hardness gives better stats on a weapon (and armor too I think but I'm not sure) but reduces the ability for it to be enchanted. Using the example of elemental damage being added to a weapon, the harder the metal used the more physical damage the weapon can do but the less elemental damage can be added. The softer the metal the less physical damage the weapon can do but the more elemental damage can be added. I think in this case it's a one to one conversion assuming mastercrafted everything where the total possible damage is capped on the template used and hardness just allows you to adjust the balance between physical and elemental.

Currently there is no enchanting stat. The current theory is that one will be added when enchanting is released, and it will be inversely proportional to a material's hardness/physical resistance.
Said theory is that good weapons on their own will not be very enchantable, just to keep the arms race down.

All materials will have a new pair of properties, Enchantment capacity and Enchantment Durability.
Capacity determines how powerful an enchantment may be contained in the item. Durability determines how quickly the enchantment must be renewed. This will generally favor materials with weaker physical stats. It will also create a new Tier 7 set of materials with good physical and enchantable stats.
