[Outfitting Society, Hallway]
Painted ivy vines flow the length of the tan colored walls of the hallway. Set against one wall is a chaise lounge covered with a light green cotton throw. Light brown mats rest upon the floor before marble, oak, and ivory doorways which lead into several workrooms.
You also see Outfitting Society Master Milline, a sturdy low counter with a small placard on it and a prestige board.
Obvious exits: north, south, west.
> put scissors on counter
You consider putting some iron scissors on a sturdy low counter, but you realize that there's nobody to store it for you.

What does this mean? I'm new to outfitting.

It looks like this might be a TF specific bug because the engineering society counter worked, and the alchemy counter sign has some weird spaces in it:

The placard reads...

You can place your crafting tools on this counter, and
[double space here] will store it for you. You can
also ASK [double space here] for the item that is in
storage, and [double space here] will return it to you. Finally, you can
ASK [double space here] for a LIST of the items you
have in storage, or for a REGISTER to allow you to store
deeds easily.

If you have multiple tools of the same name,
[double space here] will give you a sack with all of those
tools. If you ask for TOOLS, [double space here] will give you all of your
tools that are currently in storage. If you hold on to the
sack you get from [double space here], you can place that on the counter and
[double space here] will store everything inside for you.

That happens when the clerk disappears. They do that sometimes and I believe a GM has to manually respawn them. This only seems to happen with the generic clerks, so the Engineering societies in Crossing and Riverhaven can always be used. I'm not sure if there's a non-standard clerk in Shard.
