I'm pretty sure I've noticed analyze work for tools being sold at festival shops, and I noticed that analyze works on the exo/ice weapons at the bungalow, but analyze doesnt work at the exo weapons (or anything else!) at Drathrok's Assemblage.

I think it would be nice if we could analyze items to learn about things being locked/unlocked as everything that uses crystals gets more variety and becomes offered at various stages (like the exo weapons at the bungalow and assemblage, for example!).
