Boats. This why I have not put in my GM app and started fixing the really hard stupid stuff. But really boats.

Thieves want slinkys!
No, seriously, the way it's set up works well for thieves which is a bit depressing for me because I'm waiting for instruments. It also works for gadgets which, by nature, should be beneficial for non-magic users (the "Let's beat them with technology!" idea) or it falls into the novelty category which is fun but almost never useful.
To stay on topic...
Clocks and watches
lighters
It really does lend itself to fittings on a boat or ship but I was afraid to mention that because of the scary code that makes GM's scream and curl up in a fetal position. When you start taking mechanics (a.k.a. tinkering) larger it turns into wind and water powered mills, waterwheels, cantilevered buildings and bridges, mechanical bridges (various forms of draw bridges), canals, locks on canals, elevators, escalators, electricity...but at that point you can be getting outside of the setting. :D

>>Thieves want slinkys!
Since I misread this at stinkys at first, it would be amusing if tinkering (maybe with a touch of alchemy somewhere?) allowed people to spray a target with a solution that gave a stealth debuff that would also atmo'ed an alert about someone hiding around nearby (due to the smell, duh).
Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.
