Since there have been a few letters hitting the Order's mailbox for the past month or so regarding New Orders, I thought I might share on the boards an answer that was sent to the most recent inquiry. I just wanted to make sure that everyone realizes that none of the Orders waiting for Official Status are being told anything different. ::smile::

I can understand the challenges that accompany the dreadful thing that is called "waiting" in connection with becoming an officially sanctioned Order. I myself was once a member of an Order waiting for the first such sanctioning to be handed out. So when I say I understand ... I mean it from the depths of my heart. ::smile::

However, it is not simply your Order which is on hold for the moment. For the past few months, we have often posted that ALL new sanctionings are on hold. The official document for sanctioning orders has been going through an extensive rewrite to bring the rules and guidelines in it up to speed with the new mechanics that are being tested for Official Orders as a whole.

These new mechanics are quite extensive and have a profound (and beneficial) effect on the day to day operations of Orders. They have been quite labor intensive and have layer upon layer of details that I'm not allowed to go into at this time.

But the Official Guidelines Document has to be brought in line with the reality of the mechanics, or there will be a great deal of confusion and misunderstanding. Not in the overall purpose or structure of Orders, but in some of the details of interaction with game systems.

But please, do not think that it is your Order alone that is having to wait. As soon as the guidelines have been approved and released ... the hold on sanctioning new orders will be lifted.
