Naiph dear, I know you are busy with changes and things. But when you have a spare moment, can we please speak? Need to know a couple things.

Hugs Naiph!
As always a grand job of getting the supplies we needed for our mystery play and costume ball!!
Everyone had a great time and we had so mnay enteries for the costumes!
The play done by the Rogue Players was awesome......the whole audience was involved!
But without your help it would have been so hard to do this type of event.
Many Thanks for your long hours involved!

Dudess Naiph - Hang in there! on 07/24/2002 09:14 PM CDT
Dudess Naiph - Hang in there! We will be here when your like reaches equilibrium. Being an old married person myself (with a couple of curtain climbers to boot) means that I struggle to commit myself to my work daily (er, as a lawyer) and also as a spouse and parent. Enjoy the marriage prep moments and enjoy your spouse when you can. Life, be it your RL profession or your needed individual time ( mine is DR) is an intricate balance act. I hope to see you back, whenever you are ready. Thank you for your time and committment to DR to date.

Naiph's events; some thoughts on 11/10/2002 07:49 AM CST
I glanced over the replies real quick to see if anyone's addressed this yet, and I haven't seen it. So here goes.
It seems to me that the realms would be somewhat "gamed out". Kaith Kirm was just concluded, and there were Mentor-sponsored scavenger hunts as well. I can't remember if charades are a mentor or order event (I think Mentors do that one), so I see some redundancy. So would these events be somehow different? And-- besides being a competition between orders-- what would set it apart?
Also, I think many orders would like to put forth their own events. I appreciate the sentiment of leaping in with both feet and jump-starting things. Seriously. However, we were under the impression that the orders were on their own, so many have created their own event agendas. I would feel more secure in the whole process if more attention was given to the events that the individual orders have been planning. Many have done an excellent job thus far, and these excellent performances would have been made truly great with a little nudge from the powers that be.
Yes, yes, I know. Don't pick on the GMs. They try hard. I'm aware of this. However, in light of recent months, it would be really unfair to the orders if someone didn't mention that one can't simply resume the reins as though nothing transpired in Naiph's absence.

It's a pleasure to have you back with us. Hugs Lanalhe has been doing a fine job of trying to keep everything going and handling things while you were gone. And the event sounds like alot of fun and I'm definitely interested in seeing something like it....now If I just had more than 1 recent recruit..

Firstly, welcome back, Naiph! Secondly, I think this event sounds like an outstanding opportunity to really get the newer generation of Order members interacting with eachother - Order to Order - and to re-energize the long standing members.
I would agree with the previous post to the point of saying, the Orders have done a great job of hosting their own individual events and making them a ton of fun - through their own creativity and resourcefulness - and without GM intervention! We all should continue that.
But I really like the idea of all-Order events. It encourages interaction between the Orders, it's a larger scale event that will impact membership for all the Orders, it's GREAT fun for everyone involved, and it allows the GMs we have available to offer their special touches to all of us - without running a non-stop, round the clock schedule trying to meet the demands of invidual groups and falling short or being spread too thin. Which, in the long run, will hopefully allow the growth (speedier?) of the Order system - once again, for the benefit of all of us.
Just my thoughts. Kudos, Naiph, on a great idea!
