Early this morning we had a failure of the server hardware that has corrupted significant portions of the site. It seems to have affected our backups as well. If you come across any gibberish pages, that's why.
Considering how much has been lost, the staff is currently debating whether or not it's still worth it to run the site.
We'll let you know soon.

Oh man I totally fell for this too and offered to donate a bunch of money to Caraamon to help restore the deleted data, but for some reason he wouldn't give me his bank account # to do a direct deposit.

Still, good one, I pretty much spent all day trying to come up with some good ones, I dunno just never been much of a prankster.

I was seriously considering taking down the side in bursts during the day to make it seem more realistic, but that always ended up seeming more mean than funny.
The other option was saying we were moving to a 5 bucks a month pay model.

The thing I find funny is at times while I am reading Solomon's post I see one of those Bean's faces and it just strikes me as totally appropriate for that particular part of the post, or just the post in its entirety.
Anyone else find that?
