I can't wait to watch the Brazil game. I think I may have a heart attack while watching it.

I have to say the Turkey match was the toughest one so far. But! This time Turkey is playing to stay on the world cup and it's a semi, so there's a lot more responsability then just trying to beat Brasil on their first match and be another 'Senegal' so this time Turkish fellows might be pressured some. As far as our team goes we have been in the semi in the last three cups so I think we don't have a problem with that.

I'm praying for a nice fair match though..seems the Turkish will prolly try to beat Rivaldo up for that lil acting in the first game. I hope not.

No more than he diserves for his flagrant "play acting" how's it go? "Be sure your sins will find you"?

Well he was judged on the referee comission thing already. And, no, he doesnt deserve to be punished by Turkish players cause he tried to fake something, if he deserved anything he should be punished by the referee in that match of by the comission after the game. Now it you watch the matches you'll see every player fakes a lot, not in that magnitude, but still they fake, it's part of the game.

Player of Phanton, still hoping for a fair play game.

That is a huge part of the reason I don't like to watch football (soccer). It seems to take so much from the game to have the imperfection of a referee's eyes play such a visible roll. Sure folks take dives in every sport. But it really seems like they make such a big deal of it in this one sport. It's like they're admiting they don't have the skill to win, so they flop around hoping to trick the ref into giving them an advantage. It really bothers me.

Why the hell are you waiting for a stretcher? Get up and be a man already.

At least a defender cannot gain an advantage on a foul that fails to stop the attacker. I find myself shouting out "advantage" at basketball games.

They're different sports you can't expect them all to be the same. Lets say in handball when you have a fault it's not that bad, actually faults are considered normal in handball ..while in rugby I've seen folks step on the opponent's head and that's considered okay...so it's really a case to case thing. Not to mention hockey players punching each other heh.. soo...soccer has it's own lil aspects that make it interesting for some of us and silly for some..

Although I was a big "Broad Street Bullies" fan I now equate hockey to the WWF. Fighting has gotten to be part of the entertainment instead of the result playing the game with emotion.

I think that intimidation is part of any sport. I have not problem with rough play as long as there is no intent to injure. There are good fakers in soccer and there are backs that are good at making the strikers think of them instead of scoring. It is all part of the game. The kickers in American football would never think of faking being hit, would they.

This must be a South American attitude about the game. Some of the worst examples of it I've seen this Cup happened in the England v. Brasil match, and I don't mean the English side. They merely played uninspired for the second half. Besides, who cares about the Turkey v. Brasil match, its not until tomorrow.

And Germany advances to the championship match...

New record to be set? France (1998) has the record for the least goals conceded with 2 in 7 matches. Germany will go to the finals having conceded just 1 goal to Ireland.

I have to disagree. Look at what happened..Brazil was dominating until 12 when the referee showd red card to Ronaldinho for something that I've seen at least ten different times happen during the world cup without a yellow card at least. So, we're beating England 2X1 with one player expelled. Do you really think it's wise to go and attack a lot? For God sake, look at European teams, all they can do if kick the ball as high as they can and hope for a 10 foot fellow head it to someone. How can you compare that example to our playing an handling the ball? Now you're going to say that Ronaldinho's goal wasn't fair cause he never told Seaman that it was heading for the goal? It's styles, African teams tend to attack a lot and have bad defense, Europe teams have strong defenses but they just toss the ball on the box and hope for a head goal. We have our style too, and we're also experienced enough to know when it's time to stick together and do some great defense work, as you saw in the Brazil versus England match. Wasn't it for Lucio's mistake that gave Owen and England a free goal, England barely put any danger to our goalie. And that's a bad example from Brazil? And South American attitude? You should watch the South American championships more. And.. I care about Brazil and Turkey match and at least 250 million folks do care (170 from Brazil and 80 from Turkey and the rest of the minority soccer lovers out there that like either Brazil or Turkey). So..no no no mister C-Tom. If you wanna bash something get in game and bash a boar. Our soccer is nice and we have four cups to back it up.

Okay folks, there have been some stupid, gruesom, wierd and down right laughable hairstyles sported by footballers in the past, David Beckham for one, two maybe five, but it needs asking..."Is Ronaldo sporting his new half-shaved head as a bet! or does he believe the longer front half will somehow increase the control of a headed ball"?

He's having a laugh! (well I am anyway)

Throughout the Germany US game me and my flatmate amused ourselves by saying "you puny americans are no match for our genetically engineered soccer players" in our fakest german accent possible. The things that are funny when you have 2 hours of sleep.

Also soccer players from all nations fake and exagerate the slightest touches. I was glad to see refs pulling out cards for diving this world cup. Wish they reviewed and red carded after the game for blatant dives.

<<when the referee showed red card to Ronaldinho for something that I've seen at least ten different times happen during the world cup without a yellow card at least.>>

But were you disappointed because it was a bad call, and should have only been a yellow , or because ot was Ronaldinho?

<<Do you really think it's wise to go and attack a lot?>>

No, but taking fake dives and extra time during throw-ins is part of the beautiful game?

<<European teams, all they can do is kick the ball as high as they can and hope for a (sic) fellow (to) head it... (sic) but they just toss the ball on the box and hope for a head goal.>>

Does that not lead to goals? Does that not win games?

<<How can you compare that example to our playing an handling the ball?>>

My two previous replies.

<<We have our style too, and we're also experienced enough to know when it's time to stick together and do some great defense work, as you saw in the Brazil versus England match.>>

I'd say good defense coupled with uninspired play from the Enlgand side.

<<England barely put any danger to our goalie>>

True.

<<Also soccer players from all nations fake and exagerate the slightest touches. I was glad to see refs pulling out cards for diving this world cup. Wish they reviewed and red carded after the game for blatant dives.>>

And I wish that players played with a little more sportmanship. Maybe the game does need a fourth Ref now, to help control those antics.

Bring on todays game!

And Brasil advances to the championship match to play Germany on Sunday.

No..I wasn't disappointed for Ronaldinho's red card..the only thing that bothers me is if a Turkish player had done that and got a red card, most lilkely it would be said that it was a bad call and Brazil has the comission in their pockets and whatnot..
But when they give one of us a red card for a nasty fault, then it's a good call automatically , no matter what happens in other ocasions. And that sucks.

Well, about attacks , defenses in the England X Brazil match they coulnd't create much cause we had three defenders making sure they had no space for that. That is called great defense play.

You refer to the beauty of the game....what is the beauty of the game? Kicking the ball as high as you can and hope for a head shot isn't beautiful in my eyes. Prolly cause I'm used to having players with ability enough to carry the ball and make something neat with it..Like Denilson when he has four Turkish players chasing him..that was neat and funny. So if playing beautifully is scoring, then we're still ahead it seems, we have Ronaldo with 6 goals, Rivaldo with 5 and Ronaldinho with two or three, not sure to be honest.

Everyone in the world that saw that card said it wasn't the best card given... Don't go pretending everyone thinks it's fine cosit was Brazil.

I"m not pretending. Did you see an international fuzz on the press as it happened when Rivaldo dived? So Turkish player can kick the ball directly at Brazilian guy , get expelled and a fuzz. Ronaldinho gets a red card for something that happens every game and it's plain normal and no fuzz. I'm not pretending. Gotta balance what you see.
